Tea is made by the leaves of the Camellia sinensis. The first cup of tea was brewed in B.C 2737. Tea was originated in China by a scientist called Shen Nung after a leaf from a bush fell in his open kettle. Tea is the second most popular beverage in the world behind water.

What you need: Kettle Teapot Tea bag Cup Tea spoon Milk / Sugar

Method1. First pour some water into a kettle.2. Next, wait for the water to boil for about 3 minutes.3. When the water is boiling, pour the water into the teapot.4. Then, put the teabag in.5. Stir with the teaspoon until it turns to a very dark colour.6. Pour into a tea cup7. Add milk and sugar.8. Drink it!

Shen Nung is the manwho invented tea. He wasa famous Chinese Emperor.He is also the father of Chinese medicine. He invented tea in B.C 2737.He discovered how to maketea by accident because aleaf from a bush fell in his open kettle and he drank it.

Where does tea grow?

Major tea growing regions of the world are; India, China, Sri Lanka, Japan, Kenya, Turkey, Indonesia, Vietnam, Argentina, Tanzania, Taiwan, Malawi and Zimbabwe.

Who Grows the most?

China grows the most Tea with 30.4%

India comes second with 24.4%

Kenya comes next with 9.5%

1. Tea comes from the leaves of a tree called Camellia sinensis.

2. 5 out of 6 North Americans drink tea.

3. The three main types of tea are Black, Oolong and Green. 4. Herbal tea does not come from the leaves of a tea plant, therefore, is not considered to be real tea. 5. Roots, stems, flowers and parts of plants are used to make herbal tea. 6. A cup of black tea has half the amount of caffeine than a cup of coffee. 7. 5 out of 6 North Americans drink tea. 8. The average North American consumes one cup one cup of tea per day.
