Welcome
8 4th International Conference "Strategies in Tissue Engineering" 2015
Welcome from the Organizers
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are honored to welcome you to the 4th International Conference
“Strategies in Tissue Engineering” in Würzburg, Germany. As at the previous
very successful conferences, we aim to bring together researchers from all over
the world to discuss the latest developments in the rapidly expanding
interdisciplinary field of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.
We have invited more than 40 internationally well-known scientists to share
their knowledge and foster a lively discussion among all participants. The
scientific program takes into account the most recent developments and
trends of the field. Examples are biomaterials sessions focusing on
biofabrication and tissue printing as well as the design of immunomodulatory
materials, the growing importance of cell reprogramming for regenerative
medicine, new tools for non-invasive monitoring, 3D in vitro tissue models or
regenerative strategies in old age and multimorbidity. Also, clinical trials using
Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) within the current regulatory
framework as well as the marketing authorization process will be covered. As
lunch symposia, we will present two FP7 EU projects, which are dealing with
engineering of zonal cartilage employing hierarchical hydrogels and printing
technologies, and the development of new tools and technologies for
identification, homing and monitoring of therapeutic cells for regenerative
medicine.
Again, it is one of our major goals to encourage young researchers and students
to get involved in the field and to participate at a top-class meeting for low
cost. Thus, we were trying to keep the conference fees as low as possible. For

the first time, we have organized a Ph.D. session to further stimulate early
stage networking and experience exchange.
Especially, we would like to thank all individuals involved in the conference
organization for their effort to put this meeting together and the industry and
sponsors for their financial support, both is crucial for a successful meeting.
Welcome to Würzburg,

Getting around in Würzburg
A city map is included in your conference bag for convenient orientation and plenty of suggestions for after conference activities. We highly recommend walking within downtown Würzburg, as most places of interest can be reached within 15 min at most. Otherwise, buses and streetcars are available with single and 24-hour-tickets, starting from 1.70 € / 3.00 €, depending on the area covered. Tickets can be purchased at the office in front of the train station or from ticket machines at most of the bus and streetcar stations. There is a bus stop in front of the Congress Center and streetcar lines 2 and 4 have stops nearby.
