PRINCIPAL MESSAGE

Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT) was established in 2003 by the Guru

Nanak Educational Trust. GNIT is a unit of JIS Group Educational Initiatives, a

premier education service provider in West Bengal, having 30 Institutions,

25,000 students offering 72 academic programs. JIS Group Educational

Initiatives started its journey towards fulfilling its mission – Igniting Minds,

Empowering Lives from the year 2000. The Institute has the Quality Policy:

Maintaining Excellence in Quality Education. All the courses are approved by

AICTE, Govt. of India and affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology

(WBUT), Govt. of West Bengal. The institute is NAAC accredited and has been

conferred Autonomous status during 2014.

- Prof. (Dr.) Santanu Kr. Sen

HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT

MESSAGE

Computer Science & Engineering department has been in the forefront

of imparting quality education to the students. The success of the

Department is amply reflected in the outstanding achievements of the

students employed both abroad and within the country. Every success

is due to the contribution of the well-qualified and dedicated faculty

motivating the efforts of the students to reach the top. In addition to

the curriculum, our department conducts regular value-added course

and soft skill programs to meet the ever-changing needs of

employability. This helps the highly motivated students to understand

the dynamics of the industry and to upgrade their skills for higher

studies. This Department of GNIT was established in the year 2003 and

offers disciplines like B. Tech (CSE) and M. Tech (CSE) by a number of

qualified faculty and technical members who engage the students in

innovative teaching-learning process to provide a comprehensive

research environment complemented. The Department is constantly

evolving towards greater heights to serve the needs of the society and

meet the aspirations of the student community.

- Mrs. Ipsita Saha

EDITOR MESSAGE

Dear Readers,

You have in your hand “CSE Headlines”. The official Newsletter of Dept. of CSE. It

captures the significant moments of the journey of CSE people. We have tried our

best to make sure this chronicle of CSE helps you in recapping your momentous

journey in the Dept. “CSE Headlines” is an accumulation of the enormous effort

put forward by the unconquerable CSE people and is also an example of their

creativeness. It tries to bind together each and every side of our very own “CSE

family”. This issue might be termed as a rumination of our Alma Mater’s

grandeur. This was another splendid semester, with our students bringing glories

to the Dept. in all possible domains. Their achievements were so glowing that all

our effort to comprise their endeavors in one issue went in vain. Thus, this

newsletter is not the upshot of the effort put by an individual, but is the

enormous effort put forward by, first and foremost, our Principal Sir, HOD

madam, and then, the Editorial Board, all faculties and dear CSE people. This is

just a small tribute to our Department. We apologize for inadequacies and hope

you will cherish our efforts.

- Mr. Pritimoy Sarkar
