So, what is aConvergent Boundary? How
do plates fold over themselves?
All continental plates are less dense
then oceanic plates and also have the
same density. Neither plate sinks or
rises over each other so they are
forced to crash directly in to each
other. The rest of the plate slowly is
pushed in with it and having no place
to go, folds over itself creating
A convergent boundary occurs when tectonic plates collide in to each
other. !hen continental plates
collide, they form folded mountains
when the rocks buckle due to
immense pressure. A present day
e"ample of this is the #ndian plate
crashing in to the $urasian plate
which formed the famous Himalayan%ountains. &nlike subduction 'ones,

How to make a continental(continental
convergent boundary model using this sheet of
paper)
*. +old the outermost panels, where the
te"t and the pictures are, downward, so
the outermost lines are the creases.. +old the opposite direction for the ne"t
lines going inward on both sides.
. +old the middle outward so that the foldsbend the other way again.-. ush the sides together and en/oy your
model)
