Step 7: Fill a beaker ¾ full of water. Set the beaker on a hotplate and bring it to a boil using boiling chips. Once boiling, set the thermometer into the beaker of water and place it through a ring stand clip to hold the thermometer in place.

Step 8: Once the thermometer probe is placed in the boiling water, press 2 on the calculator to begin recording temperatures for 15 minutes. A graph should appear with a line that slowly comes across the screen signifying that values are being recorded every few seconds.
