An awardee shall: enroll in the required academic load and study full-time in any of the identified training institutions; maintain a grade point average/general weighted average required by the Graduate School of the university and comply with the university’s academic requirements to remain in the scholarship program; comply with the terms and conditions of the Scholarship Contract to be entered into among himself/herself, the Training Institution, and DOST-SEI; render service in the Philippines upon completion of his/her degree along his/her field of specialization equivalent to the length of time he/she enjoyed the scholarship; receive the remaining stipends to be released as incentive if he/she completes his/her degree program earlier than the prescribed period of study. refund the scholarship grant with 12% interest for non-completion of the program within the prescribed period of study and/or failure to comply with the service obligation. An awardee shall:

The Department of Science and Technology-Science

Education Institute has created a National Consortium in

Graduate Science and Mathematics Education (NCGSME)

among ten (10) universities which aims to establish a common

quality graduate program and to accelerate the development of

a critical mass of experts in SME. The member-universities of

the Consortium are: Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), Bicol

University (BU), Central Luzon State University (CLSU), De La

Salle University (DLSU), Mariano Marcos State University

(MMSU), Mindanao State University-Marawi (MSU-Marawi),

Philippine Normal University (PNU), University of San Carlos

(USC), Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) and West

Visayas State University (WVSU).

For AY 2016-2017, the DOST-SEI announces the

availability of scholarships for Master’s/PhD in Science and

Mathematics Education under the NCGSME to qualified

undergraduate and master’s degree graduates in science and

mathematics education.

School Placement and Field of Specialization

The applicant must:

1. be a Filipino citizen;

2. not be more than 45 years old at the time of application;

3. have been admitted to the Master’s/PhD in Science

Education Consortium Program in any of the identified institu-

tions;

4. have at least two (2) years’ teaching experience in science

and mathematics for PhD; or

have at least one (1) year teaching experience or have gradu-

ated with academic honors or graduated as DOST scholar for

Master’s;

5. be in good health and of good moral character;

6. not be a recipient of other scholarships.

Criteria of Eligibility

1. Accomplished Information Sheet (Form 1);

2. Photocopy of Birth Certificate;

3. Certification of Employment and Permit to Study, if employed

(Form 2);

4. Certificate of Health Status (Form 3);

5. Certified True Copy of Service Record, if employed;

6. Certified True Copy of Official Transcript of Records (TOR);

7. Notice of Admission to the Master’s/PhD in Science

Education program in any of the identified universities;

8. Endorsement from two (2) former professors.
