Canada’s Top-Ranked Business School Global Reach. Innovative Programs. Diverse Perspectives.

Page 2: Schulich School of Business IDENTITY USAGE GUIDELINES...corporate and foundation partners, and friends have joined together in exceeding our goal, raising an incredible $65 million

LOGO OVERVIEW

Global, innovative and diverse, the Schulich School of Business is ranked among the world’s leading business schools by

a number of global surveys. Our key stakeholders identify with our brand and the school must strive to be consistent in the

applications of our identity.

The Schulich School of Business logo must always be accompanied by the York University logo, and should never be altered or

re-drawn in any way. Modifications or alterations will undermine its brand consistency and effectiveness. Examples of different

variations and colour options for the logo can be found on pages 2 and 3.

For questions regarding these brand guidelines, please contact Don Woticky, Director of Marketing & Communications:

(416) 736-2100 ext. 70799 or [email protected].

Two configurations of the Schulich School of Business / York University logos are available for use in all print applications. The print versions include the bilingual ‘Université / University’ in the York portion of the logo.

Horizontal (Primary Logo for Print Use)The horizontal logo version must be used in the majority of Schulich print materials. It is available in full-colour and white.

Vertical (Secondary Logo for Print Use)The vertical Schulich/York logo is the secondary identity and must be used sparingly in print materials where size restrictions are a concern.

Leading Change Fundraising Campaign

When the School’s largest and most ambitious fundraising campaign launched five years ago, we did so in order for Schulich to continue leading change – meeting the needs of how today’s graduate students learn and the demands of management education.

More than 3,000 alumni, staff and faculty, students, corporate and foundation partners, and friends have joined together in exceeding our goal, raising an incredible $65 million.

The Leading Change Campaign concluded in June 2020, marking an inspiring milestone for the School. Therefore, the specialized Schulich Leading Change logo variation is now retired, and is no longer required to appear on Schulich communications and materials.

Usage of the Schulich ‘Leading Change’ logo is no longer required

Two different values of the Schulich taupe are to be used in Schulich materials including the main website and print /online advertising, depending on the publication and legibility of the type. COLOUR USAGE – SECONDARY PALETTE

A secondary colour palette is available for use in various Schulich materials to be used as accent colours, and therefore should not overwhelm a layout. The secondary colours can help distinguish headline hierarchies, sidebars, icons and infographics. For reference samples for colour usage, see page 7.

It is acceptable to use secondary colours other than those specified, provided they complement the primary and secondary colour palette and do not distract, clash or compete with it.

SECONDARY FONTS

The secondary fonts to be used for the Schulich brand are ‘IBM Plex Sans’ and ‘Knockout 28 Junior Featherweight’.

‘IBM Plex Sans’ is the official typeface of York University, and is acceptable for occasional use in Schulich materials. If the primary Schulich fonts (Frutiger and Gotham) are unavailable, they can be substituted for ‘IBM Plex Sans’.

‘Knockout 28 Junior Featherweight’ must be used sparingly. It is used mainly for headline copy, to help compliment the ‘Frutiger’, ‘Gotham’, or ‘IBM Plex’ typefaces. It also adds visual texture to a layout, or should be used where layout space is limited (ie. digital banner ad).

Refer to page 14 for layout samples utilizing these secondary fonts.
