Woolworths Earn & Learn is back! Tucker Road Primary School update

15,000 stickers … and still counting! The Woolworths Earn & Learn program concludes on Tuesday 8th September. We only have approximately 3 more weeks to earn valuable resources for our children including art supplies, books, musical instruments, science equipment, sports equipment and much more. To help you collect even more, Woolworths are holding a big DOUBLE STICKER WEEKEND this Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. Customers will get 2 stickers for every $10 you spend. The more you collect the more educational equipment we can redeem for our school. A big thank you to these dedicated students and their families for helping with ‘sticking’ the stickers … Lucy Warren (3K), William Warren (1A), Charlie Garcia (3S), Rebecca Garcia (1A), William Garcia (PM), Alyssa Frenkel (1A), Olivia Smith (1A), Fiona Ioannidis (3K), Elly Begen (1H) and Lily Heenan (PK). Remember to place the stickers onto the sticker sheet and when the sheet is full it can be dropped into the sticker collection box at school in the office

foyer area. Thank you to our wonderful Tucker Road families for your fantastic efforts

so far!

Year 3-6 Swimming Program

Dear Parents/Carers

For our program this year we are using a rotating timetable. We are hoping that this addresses the problems that a set timetable

caused in the past. Please refer to the times below for your child/ren’s schedule.

Please remember that parents, carers and others are welcome to attend the swimming sessions as visitors. Also please remember

that all visitors are to view the sessions from the spectator seating – no visitors are to be on the pool deck. All information for the

swimming instructors and inquiries are to be provided via the classroom teacher.

Tucker Road Extra Curricula Activities

Before School, Lunchtime & After-School

Over a number of years Tucker Road has run a number of lunchtime and after school programs. The main

two reasons for doing this is to firstly provide opportunity for the interests and talents students have. The

second reason is to help students manage their time and themselves – not all students want or can cope with

fifty minutes of unstructured play that lunchtimes present. Our lunchtime programs are mostly run by the

teaching staff with a few user pay programs on offer. There has also been an increase in the number of after

school programs the school is facilitating – all these are user pay programs. As a school we believe we have

a role in helping provide in as many ways as possible for our students – some of this we can do inside school

hours and done by our staff, other parts we need to look at what commercial providers can offer.

We would like to bring to everyone’s attention new lunchtime and after school electronics and chess

opportunities through Kids Unlimited. Please refer to the flyer in this and other newsletters.

The table below outlines the extra curricula programs run at Tucker Road either through the school or by an

external contractor.
