THE FINEST

NATURAL

ENVIRONMENT

IN THE UKThe Ice Factor lies in the village of

Kinlochleven, surrounded by the sweeping

Mamore Mountain (with 13 mountains over

3,000ft) and sandwiched between the World

Heritage Site of Glencoe (6 miles to the South)

and Ben Nevis Range (14 miles to the North).

We make best use of the

incredible playground provided

by nature with regular trip to

Glencoe on the old Military

Road (now the West Highland

Way) to see the massacre site of

1692.

Students can also look

forward to visiting some of the

famous Harry Potter Landmarks

- the Quidditch Tournament is

set in spectacular Steall Falls -

one of the largest free fall

waterfalls in the UK and rock

climbing in Glen Nevis,

where both Braveheart and

Rob Roy were filmed.

Within the village there is

a forrest walk going through some

of the last vestiges of the ancient

Caledonian Forest and the site of a 16th

century coke furnace and 1st World War

POW camp.

But the main beauties are the

abundant mountain and lochs (you could

fit every area of National Park from

England and Wales into just this corner

“Where the Peaks reach the

sky, and the Lochs reach the

sea..”With the UK’s highest mountain, the

mainland’s most westerly point, the nation’s

deepest loch and Western Europe’s last

wilderness area the West Highlands of

Scotland have an abundance of riches for the

outdoor enthusiast. The culture and history of

the region are no less spectacular.
