1. Finding Yourself Attending school without traveling only teaches you what’s required in academia. Several of my friends that have traveled as

students have only positive things to say about their experiences. Their adventures allowed them to become more independent

and learn things about themselves including skills they never thought they had!

2. Meeting New People Socializing and getting to know a stranger in a foreign land is one of the best things about traveling. It allows you to learn about

different cultures and customs, and helps provide you with a different perspective on life. Perhaps it might even teach you to

appreciate the little things that you unknowingly take for granted!

3. Discover Something New There’s a lot more to the world than what you see highlighted in textbooks clearly. Yes, photos are great, but you’re missing out on

the sounds, smells, and tastes of these places if you don’t get yourself out there. Things are bigger and better up close.

4. Gain a New Perspective Traveling provides a plethora of cultures, languages, and lifestyles that one only hears or reads about. By immersing oneself in a

new environment, it allows a different outlook on life on many levels.

5. Stress Relief School can become stressful. Period. Depending on your course load, work, and extra-curricular activities, school can quickly

become overwhelming. I’ve seen students of all ages break down and it’s not pretty. To avoid this situation, take a trip to

somewhere foreign. It could even be a memorable road trip with friends just as long as it takes you out of town and gives you

enough time to break from life. Everyone needs to be relieved of stress!

6. Cultural experience outside the school Cultural experience outside the home community. Give your students the opportunity to experience something new, something

outside their comfort zone. Our country has so many different regional possibilities, and the educational potential increases with

international travel

Why students should travel?
