We will leave school at 8:30am The Powhiri/welcome to Morrinsville School starts at 9 am We are to be assembled by the Foster Ave gate by 8:50 am Parking is on the field – entrance Lincoln Street Children are getting in their dresses and sashes at school as we are 4 th on stage. Can girls please have their hair in a bun if they have long hair (we can do some at school if your children brings a brush and hair tie) Girls wear their school t-shirt and jacket over the dress Boys wear T-shirt and jacket and maroon shorts over their sash. (thank you to those who have sorted their uniform) Bring plenty of food and drink for the day. Please advise a teacher if you are taking your child away. On Friday at 11 am – Speech and Ukulele display day. If you would like to see your child play the ukulele or say their speech – please come along. Well done children who went to Kiwitahi School to compete in the Speech Contest. Brooklyn, Saskia, Jordyn, Lindsay, Harlow Dylan, Amelia, Livia, Alex D, Chloe, Olivia H, Brooke. What a experience in public speaking for the children. We are proud of our children’s’ efforts. Today the children had a cricket session with Carissa from Waikato Valley Cricket to learn more cricket skills. LIVESTOCK DAY Numbers are well down on past years. We have at present only 15 animals entered.

As Suzanne is wanting to work on this over the holdiays please have

ALL entries in by 21st September - Wednesday

Our Livestock Day will be held on Saturday 15 October 9:30 am start.

Cups/Trophies can be returned before the end of term please – Clean please

A reminder to keep sending in the livestock day entry forms. Entries will close 21 September

Basketball Academy – Coaching clinics to help develop players skills.

Years 3 and 4 starting 3:30 Tuesday 20th September.

Years 5 and 6 starting 4:30pm Tuesday 20th September

At Morrinsville Event Centre.

Wednesday 21st September

This week is prize giving for basketball. We would like all Players to attend if possible.

The afternoon will start with a shooting competition at 4:30pm followed by prize giving.

Touch Rugby 2016

Where: Campbell Park

When: Wednesday 19th October – Wednesday 30th November

Time: 3.30pm – 4.30pm

Is your child has interested in playing touch rugby next term? Teams will be made of Y3/4 mixed girls and boys, and Y5/6 mixed girls and boys. The emphasis is on fun and

fair play. Each team is required to provide a referee and a manager. Please indicate on the form below if you are able to assist with either of these tasks. (Any older siblings

who have played touch before would be greatly appreciated as referees)!

Forms need to be completed and returned to school as soon as possible and no later

than Thursday 22nd September.

Thank you for your support of this – the Education is going under a huge review and the meeting was a way of getting the Educator’s point of view out there.

The school isn’t looking loved at present and the BOT would like to have a couple of working

bee’s over the holidays to remedy this.

Saturday 1st October - 9am-3pm and Saturday 8th October – 9am-3pm

If you can help at any time on those days we would really appreciate your help. Remember

many hands make light work. It is also an opportunity to meet some of the school community.
