Dear Parents/carers, School Games afternoon The weather was fine and the oval filled up with parents, staff and students on Thursday afternoon. Thank you to families who could come along and meet and mingle with other families. Welcome again to all our foundation students and their families. Camps, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF) The camps, sports and excursion fund provides payments for eligible students to attend camps, sports and excursions. $125.00 per year will be paid for eligible primary school students. Families holding a valid means tested concession card, or temporary foster parents are eligible to apply. To be eligible students need to be enrolled at the school on the 27/1/16. Forms are available from the office and applications close 03/06/2016. Camp Coolamatong Grades 3-6 Deposits due after the holiday break in the second week of Term 2. If your child is in the senior grades they may be interested in attending our school camp this year in June 20-22nd 2016. For any information please speak to your child’s teacher or Mr. Clarke the Camp Coordinator. The camp is action packed and lots and lots of fun! Student Leadership School Captains, Vice Captains and House Captains will have photos this week. House Captains will receive their badges at Assembly this week. Traffic Safety- VIC ROADS Most children haven’t developed the skills to be safe in traffic They may:

Not notice objects directly in front of them

Have trouble judging the speed of cars

Not behave safely

If you drive or park near the school take extra care and keep on the lookout for children. Important Reminder- Administration Car park in York Street. For staff parking only NOT parents for the safety of all concerned. Traffic Safety Officers will be in attendance around the school in coming days. Only parents with a sticker for wheelchair access may park in the defined car spaces. Thank you for your cooperation. Ride and Walk to School day On Friday 4th March, students, parents and staff are encouraged to walk or wheel their way to and from school on this day. Walking and wheeling- ride your bike, scooting and skate boarding are all great ways to get around and do not rely on fossil fuels, just healthy food power your body. Parent al support is also welcomed in helping students walk or wheel. As always safety and that of others is first and foremost. Student wheelers may legally use footpaths, but remember Wheelers give way to Walkers, and they walk their wheels in the school grounds. Please observe the laws and rules of the road. Cross busy roads at traffic lights and look out for traffic. All students must wear a helmet on their head as it is a legal requirement.

Book Packs and Fees If you haven’t collected your child’s Book pack yet there are still some available from the office. Fees can be paid at collection time at the office. School Uniform The School Council would like to remind parents that we follow our Glenroy West Uniform policy. It is compulsory for all students. If your child is not able to be in correct uniform please provide a note to the classroom teacher.
