About us

Why choose an activity expedition? All inclusive pricing

We specialise in taking overseas activity expeditions and have

been operating since 1994. As well as taking schools away we

have worked alongside charities and corporate companies

designing bespoke itineraries with the activity at the centre of

the expedition. We have built up a great reputation for

exceptional in-country knowledge and support having worked

alongside the same local operators for up to 20 years.

By making the activity the basis of the expedition the costs are kept

lower as entertainment and transportation are both included. By

travelling through a country by foot or by bike the students fully

immerse themselves in the culture and environment and access

those areas off the tourist trail that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Why look out the bus window when you could be cycling along the

bottom of that valley or walking along that ridge line?

We believe that schools itineraries should be all inclusive and

inclusive for all. This means that there are no hidden costs for

students and the only thing they need pay for in-country are

souvenirs. By making it inclusive ‘for all’ we create itineraries that are

more affordable to allow more students to access these opportunities

and make the activities challenging but achievable.

Discover Adventure LeadersLocal knowledge is invaluable, we are

therefore proud to always work alongside local

English speaking guides who stay with the

group for the duration of the trip. This provides

us with safety and support but also creates an

incredible cultural bridge for the students as it

gives them an unlimited source of information

on the country and local customs and

lifestyles.

“I really enjoyed travelling

through Central America with

the students and showing

them my country. I had a good

time talking with the students

learning about where they are

from as we cycled. I was

amazed how through the trip

everyday they pushed

themselves to the finish line,

they were good kids for me

was a really good experience I

can not wait to do it again!”

Our Moroccan Local guide

Safety is always our biggest consideration, we

therefore provide a UK doctor on our

expeditions who have a passion for the

outdoors to go with their altitude experience

and their medical knowledge. They will be

travelling with a comprehensive medical kit

allowing instant access to UK medicines and

expertise in an emergency.

Our leaders are selected for their experience in

harsh wilderness environments, knowledge of

travel in remote areas, friendliness and

approachability, sense of humour and ability to

safely and effectively deal with any situation that

arises. They are also trained in expedition first-

aid. We operate a 1:12 ratio so you’ll always be

adequately supported.

“I have led many trips in The Atlas

Mountains and Sahara Desert. The

most enjoyable trips are taking school

groups trekking, cycling and getting them

involved in community projects. The local

communities welcome us as if we are

family. It gives me a great sense of pride

taking the children to my homeland.”

UK Support

During the build up to the expedition you will be

assigned an account manager who will deal with

all the administration. They will also visit your

school twice in the lead up to present the trip to

parents and students and answer any questions

that may arise.

During the expedition the in-country team will

have full back up from the 24hr UK operations

room. If any issues do arise in-country there is

always someone on hand to deal with any

incidents and to liaise with the school and

parents.

Our Destinations

Short Haul Long HaulItineraries usually start from 10 days to ensure

the time spent on a flight and the time

difference is justified. However 7 day itineraries

can be created for our African destinations. By

choosing evening flights and sleeping on the

plane your students can be in county and

beginning their expedition by lunch time the

following day due to the small time difference.

These destinations can be anywhere from 5

days upwards. Your students will land in

country on the same or next day to departure,

we can therefore pack a lot into a shorter time

frame such as a half term without taking any

days off school.

Your students could go from their desks to

getting Sahara sand in their shoes within

12hrs.

All of our African destinations can be made

into an overland expedition. We use

converted lorry's which can carry groups of 25

people and all the tents, bikes and cooking

equipment needed to create a unique

adventure.

This keeps the costs to a minimum as the

group is self supporting and our experienced

drivers will take you off the beaten track to

give students the chance to enjoy a once in a

lifetime experience.

The truck and driver will also provide support

whilst the group are cycling, rafting or

trekking.

Overland expeditions teach the students to be

organised and work as a team as everyone

needs to pull their weight with the cooking,

cleaning and camp craft.

Overland expeditions

Projects and exchanges

With our long history with all of our overseas

agents we can guarantee that if your school

chooses to have a project element to their

expedition that it will be meaningful and

worthwhile with the money and time going

directly to the people that need it.

Having an English speaking local guide with

the group throughout the project will allow it

to flow smoothly without misinterpretations

or frustrations benefiting both the students

and the locals they are there to help.

If your school already has an overseas link,

an itinerary can be created to incorporate a

visit to that school as a part of an exchange

or a project.
