Scholarships open to AORN members
Scholarships are available to AORN members who are continuing their education.
Those who apply for scholarships will be con- sidered for the AORN- Edith D Hall1 scholarships, the Purdue Frederick Fellowships, and the Newhauser Memorial Award.
These scholarships may be applied towards tuition and fees, but may not be used for other educational ex- penses.
Applications should be submitted on the scholarship application form printed in this Journal. Applications, transcrips, substantiating data, and other correspnd- ence are to be submitted to:

The selection of scholar- ship recipients i s based on the applicant’s fulfillment of the outlined requirements, the individual’s motivation
mittee
and personal goals, evidence of positive personal commit- ment toward educational growth, and the individual’s contribution to operating room nursing and the As- sociation of Operating Room Nurses.
To meet scholarship re- quirements, the applicant must:
0 submit application by Oc- tober 15 if applying for the winter or spring quarter or the spring semester course enrollment 1973-1 974.
0 be pursuing a bachelor of science degree with a major in nursing.
0 or be pursuing advanced education (masters in arts, science, nursing science, doc- tor of education, doctor of philosophy, doctor of nursing science) in nursing or a re- lated field which comple- ments the nursing profession.
0 be a current member of AORN in good standing. Membership must have been maintained at least one year prior to the submission of ap- plication. Proof of member-
ship status must be provided by the applicant. Members of the National AORN Board of Directors, during their elected term, and AORN Headquarters personnel are ineligible.
0 must provide evidence of application for admission to an accredited program. The scholarship award is con- tingent upon proof of ad- mission acceptance by the institution.
0 must arrange for submis- sion of official transcripts from diploma and/or college educationall program.
0 must have an accumulated grade point average of 2.75 using a 4.0 point scale in diploma or undergraduate course work.
0 will be expected to main- tain an accumulated grade point average at the B-level in order to qualify for fund- ing for consecutive quarter or semester course work.
0 may apply for additional scholarship if grade point average is maintained at the
B-level. 0
