Mission Statement

KIDS’ CHANCE Inc. of Missouri provides assistance for post-high school educational costs for children whose parents are seriously

injured or killed by accident or illness covered under the Missouri workers’ compensation law

Page 3: Scholarships for children of seriously injured workers

Dear Friends of Kids’ Chance:

One of the wonderful joys of reflecting on the end of the year is the chance to say “thank you” to the friends

and supports of Kids’ Chance of Missouri for your continued fundraising efforts, networking and contribu-

tions!

Your time, efforts and money has once again allowed us to help kids fill the financial shortfall created by a

parent’s death or injury. Since our inception over 20 years ago, our mission and goals have never varied:

Raise more money.

Involve more people.

Provide more scholarships.

Year after year, we do this with just one paid employee – and the help of hundreds of volunteers. As our

2016– 2017 Annual Report outlines, your consistent collective networking efforts have helped Kids Chance of

Missouri spread the word of our mission, increase our fundraising events and secure more monetary dona-

tions than ever before in our history! I am excited to report that over the last calendar year, Kids’ Chance of

Missouri, Inc. provided nearly 45 scholarships and awarded over $240,000.00!

We welcome our community supporters to help us spread the word about this great organization and our

mission to support educating the children of injured workers. Together, we can continue to achieve our goal

of More Money for More Kids!

On behalf of the board, thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Gregory B. Goodwin

President, Board of Directors

Kids’ Chance of Missouri, Inc.

* The discrepancy between revenue and outlays in FY 2016-17 is due to higher-than-average revenues in the preceding year. That permitted scholarship amounts in FY 2016-17 that were much higher than the amount of money brought in during that same time frame. This “deficit” on this annual report, therefore, actually represents our ability in FY 2016-17 to pay higher-than-average scholarships using extra money from the year before, while still leaving sufficient funds to award 42 “regular-sized” scholarships in FY 2017-18.
