CGR4M Course Culminating ActivitySustainable Action: Imagining Good News in Practice
Task Overview:In this assignment, you will take a closer look at a sustainable solution (good news idea) and how it addresses an environmental issue that concerns you. Lastly, you will imagine on a local scale, what positive changes will occur as a result of adopting your sustainable solution. Your guiding framework will include the unit themes we focused on it class:
Earth’s Systems – Which of the spheres: hydrosphere, lithosphere, atmosphere, and/or are impacted? How?Human Impacts – What role do humans play in the problem and solution?Approaches to Resource Management – How is the environment valued differently in the problem and solution?Environmental Protection – What strategy is used to accomplish environmental action? (e.g. individual/community change, government policy/laws, etc.)
Task:1. Complete Culminating Research Template on chosen solution and related environmental issue(s).2. Create a Concept Map reimagining your how your solution will promote positive environmental change.3. Create a spatial journal/infographic that demonstrates the significance of your solution in action.4. Present your idea to the class.
IMPORTANT NOTE:You can choose any good news idea that was shared with the class, EXCEPT for the one you presented OR you may also research a new good news idea that is yet to be known by the class. Sources Tracking Sheet. You must use a minimum of 3 online/text sources to complete your assignment.
