• Repeated addition is called as multiplication.
• 25+25+25+25+25= 125 = 5times 25 or 5 x 25 = 125
• The result obtained after multiplication is called product.
• The number to be multiplied is called multiplicand.
• The number by which we multiply is called multiplier.
• If the order of numbers is changed, the product remains same.
7 x 5 = 35 and 5 x 7 = 35 So, 7 x 5 = 5 x7
• Multiplication by 10, 100, 1000.
Example: 81 x 10 = 810, 20 x 400 = 8000,30 x 2000 = 60000
The shortcut method to multiply by 10, 100, 1000 is to write (insert) one, two and three
zeros respectively onthe right of the number after multiplying the non-zero numbers.

1) Reproduction –The process of giving birth to young ones of their own kind is called
reproduction.
2) Amphibians – The animals that live both on land and in water are amphibians. Example
– frogs, toads etc

3) Incubation– The process in which birds sit on their eggs to give them warmth is called
incubation.
4) Life cycle – Various stages of development from an embryo to an adult is called life
cycle.
5) Metamorphosis – The change occurring in the form, structure or function of organism in
the process of its growth or development is called metamorphosis.
6) Moulting– The process by which the baby insects shed their skin before they grow into
an adult is called moulting.
7) Larva– The tiny worm hatched from the egg and is different from its adult.
8) Mammals–The animals that give birth to young ones are called mammals.
9) Marsupials – The animals that have a pouch in their body to carry their young ones are
called marsupials.
10) Pupa –An insect in the stage of development between the larva and adult, during which
it typically undergoes a complete transformation within a protective cocoon is called pupa.

To Understand:
Children should know the importance of proper etiquette at mealtimes as it will help them learn
to be polite and respectful. Table manners include eating with their mouths closed, using
silverware correctly and being polite to others at the table. Displaying good table manners is a
way of showing respect and consideration for others. Imbibing good table manners may not
only aid the kids to understand the norms of socially acceptable behaviour but can also help
them to make a fine impression on others.
Expected Behaviour:
Come to the table with hands and face clean. Children should always wash their hands before every meal. Not only does this show respect for the person who prepared the meal as well as
others at the dining table, but it is also an important healthy hygiene habit.
Always ask if you can help.
Whether at home or someone else’s house, always ask the grown- up, if you can help do anything to get ready for dinner.
If setting the table, remember.….
You can also remember where silverware goes by the number of letters in the words “left” and “right,”. The fork goes on the left and has four letters. The knife goes on the right and has five letters.
Wait until everyone is served, before eating.
Never to begin eating until everyone is seated and served.
Never, ever chew with your mouth open.

Chewing with your mouth closed and not talking when your mouth is full are two important rules of good table manners.
Never stuff your mouth.
Take small bites and never stuff your mouth with too much food.
Never reach to get something.
Never reach across the table to get something. Create the habit of asking table mates to pass something you need.
Always push your chair in, when finished.
Push the chair back against the table after you finished.
Always pick up your plate and say thank you.
This is an important habit and it should become a part of your routine, both at home andin someone else’s home.

Solution: We know,
Number of days in the month of November = 30 days
Now, Number of hours in 1 day = 24 hours
So, Number of hours in 30 days = 24 hours x 30
= 24 x (3 x 10) hours
= (24 x 3) x 10 hours
= 72 x 10 hours
Answer- There are 720 hours in the month of November.
Q3. Find the product of the greatest 4-digit number and the greatest 3- digit number.
Solution: We know,
Greatest 4-digit number = 9999
Greatest 3-digit number = 999
Product = 9999 x 999
Answer:The product of the greatest 4-digit number and the greatest 3- digit number is 9989001
