Objective
This document explains how to handle and monitor
the EUL traffic in two case of network behaviors : Optimal scenario Event scenario

Optimal Scenario In optimal scenario, to keep the EUL traffic in safe
level for the site, we need to decide
eulmaxrotcoverage parameter value. This parameter basically define the ‘difference
between maximum value of ULRSSI value of site has
reached’ and ‘noise level’. To obtain this value, we can fetch the average of
peak ULRSSI values of 4-5 consecutive days for
site. This value give us an idea regarding; what ULRSSI
value site can reach daily. When we take the difference of this value and
noise floor which is -104 we can obtain safe
eulmaxrotcoverage value for the site.Page 3

Event Scenario We define the event scenario as some special event
areas and some areas getting crowded certain
times in a period (like malls or market areas) The eulmaxrotcoverage parameter calculation is
same but to be in safe mode we need to put 5dB
threshold to that value. Also we have to make sf4AdmUl 0 and sf8AdmUl 2
or 0 to reduce the SF usage by high level R99 users
so we will be having SF available for the EUL users.

Monitoring
To monitor Eul , we need to monitor: CSSR HSUPA pmNoSchEdchEul
To see the total number of simultaneous scheduled E-DCH users
having a rate > 0 kbits/s.
pmNoAllowedEul To see the number of times that no E-DCH traffic is allowed owing
to uplink interferenc (number of times rot coverage reach the
allowed value by eulmaxrotcoeverage)
pmNoEulDchBalancing To see the traffic balancing between DCH and EUL
