flower and the state tree?

Answer: The Coast Rhododendron is the state flower, and our state tree is the Western Hemlock.

Scavenger Hunt

Wetlands help clean water before entering our streams and rivers. Cattails, a wetland plant, are common in parts of Lewis Creek Park. Can you find any?

Did you know that pine cones are only from pine trees? The cones at Lewis Creek come mostly from other trees like Douglas-fir, Western Hemlock, Western Red-cedar, and Red Alder. Cones are full of seeds that are a favorite snack for squirrels.

Hint: Cattails can be found along the board walk east of the visitor center.
