Some can scan, copy and print up to A3 sized documents. Some can scan, copy and print up to A4 sized documents. These instructions are for the devices that can scan up to A3 sized documents. To scan a document, please go to one of the multifunctional devices. You can scan either by using the loading tray at the top of the machine or by laying your item on the glass. 1. Scan your card to log in or enter your details manually, then select Login. 2. Select Scan. 3. To send a copy of your scan to your university email address, select Scan to My Email. 4.You will then see this option highlighted in the Destination grid.

    Scanning Guide for A3-Size Devices

    Scanning facilities are available in the library and the centrally-managed PC suites. Some can scan, copy and

    print up to A3 sized documents. Some can scan, copy and print up to A4 sized documents. These instructions

    are for the devices that can scan up to A3 sized documents.

    To scan a document, please go to one of the multifunctional devices. You can scan either by using the loading

    tray at the top of the machine or by laying your item on the glass.

    1. Scan your card to log in or enter your details

    manually, then select Login.

    2. Select Scan.

    3. To send a copy of your scan to your university email

    address, select Scan to My Email.

    4.You will then see this option highlighted in the

    Destination grid.

    5. Select the Quick Setup tab to choose your scan

    settings.

    The default is a black-and-white scan in .pdf

    format.

    7. To see your preview in more detail, click on Detail. 8. To return from the Preview screen to Scan home

    screen, select Close.

    Press the green Start button on the keypad to send

    your scan to your university email account.

    6. You can select the Preview button to see a preview of

    your scan and make any adjustments you need.

    Scanning in colour

    If you want to scan in colour, you can select this option in the Quick Setup tab.

    Scanning in a different file format

    If you want your scan in a format other than .pdf, you can select this option in the Quick Setup tab.

    1. Select Color Selection.

    1. Select on File Format, then select the file format you want.

    Scanning to a different email account

    If you want to send your scan to an email account other than your university email account, you can do so in the

    Destination tab.

    1. Select on Email Addr Entry. 2. On the Email Address Entry screen, select Email

    Address.

    3. A keyboard will appear on the screen to allow you

    to manually input your desired email address. This

    can be any email address, including personal email

    addresses, eg. Googlemail, Hotmail, Yahoo.

    Once you have entered the email address, select

    OK.

    4. This will return you to the Email Address Entry screen,

    now with your chosen email address showing in the Email

    Address box. Select OK.

    Scanning multiple documents

    To scan multiple documents one after another, place the documents in the loading tray on the top of the machine.

    The maximum file size that can be scanned is roughly 35 pages of A4 colour or 240 pages of A4 black and white.

    5. This will return you to Destination tab of the

    scanning homescreen. Your chosen email will now

    show up in the Destination grid.

    1. On the Quick Setup tab of the scanning

    homescreen, select Continuous Scan.

    2. Select On. Your documents will then scan one after the

    other from the loading tray when you hit the green Start

    button.

    6. If you wish to send the same scan to multiple email

    accounts, you can do so by repeating these steps,

    including selecting Scan to My email as an option as well

    as manual email address entry.

    Scanning double-sided

    To scan double-sided, place the documents in the loading tray on the top of the machine. First turn on continuous

    scanning (see above).

    1. On the Org./Sending Data Format tab, select 2-

    sided/Book Original

    2. Select 2-sided.

    3. Select Left/Right. Select OK. Press the green Start

    button to scan.

    4. Select Finish Scan when scanning is complete.

    Enlarging a scan

    1. To enlarge a scan, select the Org./Sending Data

    Format tab.

    2. Select Original Size.

    3. On the Original Size pop-up screen, select your

    document size. Then select OK.

    4. This will return you to the Org./Sending Data Format

    tab. Select Sending Size.

    5.On the Sending Size pop-up screen, select the size

    you wish to enlarge the document to. Then select OK.

    6. This will return you to the Org./Sending Data Format tab

    of the scanning homescreen.

    8. Select Zoom. 7. Select the Advanced Setup tab.

    9. Select Auto. 10. Select OK. Your scan will be enlarged and sent

    when you hit the green Start button on the keypad.
