• Then, you can pass the platform upwards or downwards.

• Installation of the platform and attachment of the guardrail, cf. Item 6.2.4 or 6.2.5.

• With the assembly level, the distance between two intermediate storeys is bridged, ensuring that during assembly and dismantling the 2.10 m distance will not be exceeded.

• An assembly level is formed from a platform with hatch-type access and two side protection guardrails.

• An assembly level can be removed after the erection of the intermediate storey and can be used again further above.

Page 21: Scaffolding Systems German Handmade Manufacturer by ALFIX

21AuV ALFIX Mobile Scaffold Tower Series 5000

ALFIX Mobile Scaffold Tower Series 50007.1 Stabiliser

1. Assembly of chassis / base jacks

• Insert one castor wheel/base jack each into the stabilisers and tighten the winged screws at the spindle nuts in a way that their thread engages the boreholes of stabilisers.

2. Assembly of vertical frames

• Connect the stabilisers with their two couplers to the vertical frame (for coupler connection, see pages 31-32 “Tips & Tricks”). In the process, one coupler of each stabiliser must abut the underside of a rung. Then, turn out the castor wheel of each stabiliser so far that it rests on the ground. Tighten the wing nut (see also page 29 “Operating the castor wheels”).

3. Bracing with side protection

• The stabilisers are (as a reinforcement for the rolling beams) to be braced horizontally with the side protection against twisting. In this case, the side protection is positioned from above onto the centre rung of the stabiliser. Mobile Working Platforms with stabilisers may not be used without this bracing!

• It is possible for the base jacks, instead of castors, to be built into the stabilisers.

• In centre-type design with 4 stabilisers, one swivel coupler per stabilizer should be installed to prevent twisting.

4. Note :

• In the event of lateral erection, counterweights can be saved with almost all ALFIX Mobile Scaffold Towers through the use of stabilisers. See ballasting tables on pages 23 to 27.

Page 22: Scaffolding Systems German Handmade Manufacturer by ALFIX

22 AuV ALFIX Mobile Scaffold Tower Series 5000

Instructions for Erection and Use7.2 Wall support

1. Compressive wall support as an additional measure (without dowelling)

• This type of support is used with lateral structures, e.g. on a wall. It enables the speedy movement of the Mobile Working Platform. The wall support is connected to the vertical frame in the area of the working platform using a scaffold coupler. Upon connection, the tube end of the wall support abuts against the wall. Following a movement, one must check whether the tube still abuts the wall. If this is not the case, the wall support is to be newly set up. To avoid damage to the building, we recommend the use of a suitable damping aid between the wall and the tube end of the wall support. To connect the coupler, please refer to pages 31-32 “Tips & Tricks”.

2. Fixed wall support as an additional measure

• This method is used to firmly fasten the Mobile Working Platform onto the wall. An anchor/dowel is inserted into the wall and provided with an eyebolt Ø 12 mm (e.g. with a wood screw thread for plastic anchors). Thereafter, the hook of the wall support is hooked into the eyebolt. Then, the tube of the wall support is connected to the vertical frame by means of scaffold coupler. To connect the couplers, see pages 31-32 “Tips and Tricks”.

• The selection of the anchor type and size, as well as the anchor installation is carried out in accordance with the instructions of the anchor producer, taking into account the anchor base.
