Athletes train hard and endure significant physical demands. Many are sidelined with injuries that could be avoided, while others are still playing, but at less than peak efficiency simply because their structural system is not balanced. As a result, chiropractic care has become a mainstay in the care of world-class athletes. At the professional level, both coaches and athletes understand pain-killing drugs are not the answer and most times are not permitted. Chiropractic care is not only a drug-free and surgery-free option, but also can prevent injury and enhance performance. Athletic competition places an unusual amount of strain on the body and chiropractic treatment can help improve posture, increase a person's range of motion and flexibility, reduce pain in major joints and increase blood circulation. Numerous athletes attribute the care they receive from their chiropractor, along with working with other health-care professionals, as a key to properly preparing their bodies to perform optimally in their given sport. . Chiropractors emphasize manual therapy including joint adjustment and manipulation with particular focus on joint dysfunction or subluxations. They consider the athlete as an integrated being, stressing keeping all the systems of the body functioning efficiently. Chiropractic care has the potential to positively impact lives. Dr. Scarano Serves U.S. Bowling Congress Masters New Brunswick, NJ—The week of February 17th, Brunswick Zone Bowling Center of New Brunswick, NJ played host to the World Tenpin Bowling Association World Bowling Tour. A sold-out field of 468 players from 15 countries started the week in their quest to take home the trophy and $50,000 prize money. Dr. Scarano, along with other sports chiropractors of New Jersey, offered chiropractic services to these athletes throughout the week of competition treating a wide range of overuse, chronic and acute injuries leading up to the Live ESPN Broadcast on Sunday, February 23rd.

On this final day of play, Australia’s Jason Belmonte, became the first bowler in nearly 50 years to successfully defend a United States Bowl ing Congress Masters . Belmonte, known for his unique two-handed rolling approach, entered the championship round as the fifth seed running the stepladder and taking down all 4 bowlers ahead of him to reclaim his title. Congratulations are also sent to Jack Cook of Denville, NJ, a sophomore at Morris Knolls High School, for his strong finish as one of the youngest bowlers in the history of the PBA to qualify for this prestigious tournament.
