SAYING GOODBYE TO MAX &
DIESEL
By GB (Grandpa Boat)
Once upon a time there were three little boys. They loved their dogs Max and Diesel.
2
Sometimes the boys would play
3
and sometimes they would
cuddle with their dogs.
Sometimes those dogs were a pest
and even annoying.
4
5
Sometimes Max and Diesel would fight with each
other.
6
But no matter what, those three little boys always loved those dogs.
And those two dogs always
loved those three little boys.
7
But dogs grow up faster than boys
and Max and Diesel got very old while the boys stayed
young.
8
When Max couldn’t climb the stairs or
would pee on the carpet and when Diesel couldn’t see and would
9
poop in a corner, the old dogs would feel so sorry for what
they did.
And when they couldn’t chase a
10
ball, play and wrestle with the three boys, they
just weren’t happy anymore.
11
Then one day Max and Diesel
knew it was time to go to Doggy
Heaven.
12
Max and Diesel were friends for a
long time and they wanted to
go together. So they did. They went together to Doggy Heaven
where they would be young again.
13
A place where they wouldn’t hurt anymore
and where they wouldn’t be blind.
A place where hurts and blindness
wouldn’t stop them from
14
jumping, chasing a ball or playing.
A place where they would never be sorry or sad.
15
16
The three boys were sad to see Max and Diesel leave, but they knew the dogs
would be happier in Heaven. And if Max and Diesel
were happy, then the boys could
17
try to be happy too.
18
So they looked up to the sky,
said goodbye to Max and Diesel,
hugged their parents and went
19
to play. And that is exactly what Max and Diesel
would have wanted.
