SAFETY WARNINGS:

This machine is designed for arc welding and Li TIG with covered electrodes. It cannot be used for any other purpose.

This machine must only be operated by authorized and weld experienced personnel. Ensure that all connecons, operaons, maintenance and repair procedures are performed by authorized persons. Be sure to read this manual before operang the machine. Failure to follow the instrucons in this manual may result in serious injury, loss of life, and damage to the machine. Please read the warnings against the symbols listed below. Kolarc Makine İmalat San. ve Tic. Inc. is not responsible, due to improper connecons, storage condions and damage caused by use,

WARNING: This symbol indicates that the instrucons in this manual must be observed to avoid possible serious injury, loss of life, or damage to the machine. Protect yourself and other people around you. READ AND UNDERSTAND INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY: Be sure to read and understand the operang instrucons before using the machine. Failure to follow the instrucons in this manual may result in serious injury, loss of life, and equipment damage. Welding should not be carried out while careless, pensive, red and sleepless. Arc welding is a safe applicaon when adequate precauons are taken to protect the welder from potenal hazards. If these precauons are overlooked or neglected, hazards such as electric shock, excessive smoke and gas exposure, arc radiaon, fire and explosion may result, which can result in serious or even death.

Note: Read the ANSI Z49.1 standard for detailed informaon on safety on welding.

Protecve Equipment: Welding operators should wear clothing that protects them from the risk of burning. Welding burns are a very common risk that can result from splashing welding sparks on bare skin. Clothing worn during welding may vary according to the welding method applied, but generally the garment should provide

ease of movement and the welder's body should be covered to protect it from splashing, sparks and arc radiaon. Wool clothes should be preferred because of its flame resistance. Synthec clothing should never be worn as it will melt when exposed to heat. Protecve clothing must be protected from grease and oil. Such substances may ignite and burn uncontrolled in an oxygenated environment. Shirt sleeves and trousers should not be folded. This is because sparks and molten metals can enter folds. Trousers should be kept out of work shoes, should not be inserted into. Otherwise, molten metals and sparks can get inside the shoe. Other protecve clothing used in hazardous situaons are as follows; • Flame resistant clothing • Leggings • Aprons • Leather cuffs and shoulder cloaks • Hat worn under the welding maskGloves made of flame resistant material such as leather should be worn to protect hands from burns, cuts and scratches. In addion, the gloves made of flame resistant material such as leather should be sturdy and dry to provide some insulaon against electric shock.

Noise: Ear muffs should be worn to protect the ear from sparks and molten metals and to prevent hearing loss from the arc welding machine noise. When the noise in the working environment reaches a level that is disturbing and causing headaches, an auditory problem may occur. In this case, your ear muffs should be worn immediately. Hearing loss may not be noced unl the test is performed and it may be too late for treatment. Importance and Cleanliness of the Work Environment: The order and cleanliness of the working environment are as important as servicing the welding machine. In fact, the degree of damage can be mulplied by the number of people in the environment. Although any warnings on the machine have been read and the necessary precauons have been taken, any of the people in the vicinity may be caught in the work area, causing a risk of electric shock, hot metal contact, or falling.

All equipment, cables, hoses and gas cylinders must be kept away from moving environments such as doors, corridors and staircases. Efforts should be made to keep the environment dy and the work environment should be cleaned when welding is finished. In this way, besides working safety, working efficiency will increase. In addion, other workers in the vicinity of the welding zone may be intrusively pushed into the welding bath, so a protecve screen must be pulled around during welding. GAS TUBE CAN EXPLODE: Use only compressed gas cylinders containing protecve gas produced for welding. Make sure that the regulators suitable for the gas and cylinder pressure used are correctly installed in the cylinder.

The tubes must be kept in an upright posion and secured to a fixed place with the safety chain. Never move the tubes without closing the protecve caps. Make sure that electrodes, electrode pliers, earth pliers and any parts under tension do not come into contact with the gas cylinder. Store tubes away from the so-called risky areas that produce heat and sparks.

WELDED MATERIAL CAN BURN: A high amount of heat may be released during welding. Hot surfaces and materials can cause severe burns. Gloves must be worn when touching and handling such materials.

ELECTRIC SHOCK CAN CAUSE DEATH: The risk of electric shock is the most serious risk that the welding operator can oen encounter. Contact with electrically live parts can result in injury, death or electric shock and sudden reflex fall. Do not touch the electrode, the ground connecon, or the live workpiece connected to the machine while the machine is in operaon. Insulate yourself against the electrode, the ground connecon or the workpiece. Do not touch the metal ends of the plug immediately aer unplugging the machine, as there may be a risk of electric shock.

The risk of electric shock associated with the welding machine is divided into two categories: • Primary voltage shock (example 230 - 460 V) • Secondary voltage shock (example 20 - 100 V DC) Primary electric shock is very dangerous as it is much higher than the welding voltage. You may experience a primary electric shock when the power to the machine is on, your body is in contact with the ground, or you touch a live spot in the machine. Note that turning off the ON-OFF switch on the machine alone may not be a sufficient soluon. For complete safety, the ON-OFF switch must be disconnected and the cable must be disconnected from the connecon point aer the fuse has been switched off. Never remove the side covers of the machine and have it checked and repaired by an authorized technician in case of malfuncon. Be sure to ground the machine and the workpiece. Do not use uninsulated cables and pliers, replace them with new ones. Never immerse the electrode in water to cool. Do not touch the electrode cables connected to two separate welding machines, as the voltage may be the sum of the open circuit voltage of the two machines. Always wear a seat belt to prevent falling from electric shock when working high above the ground.

SMOKE AND GASES MAY BE DANGEROUS: Welding may cause fumes and gases to be released. Adequate venlaon must be provided or fumes and gases must be vented out of the breathing zone to protect users from this hazard. In general, welding applicaons; Depending on the duraon of exposure to smoke and the amount of smoke, temporary transient effects such as burning of the face and skin, dizziness, nausea and fever may occur. Prolonged exposure to smoke may cause iron build-up in the lungs and impaired funcon. Bronchis and lung fibrosis are among the main effects encountered. Some electrodes may contain

alloys that require special venlaon. The labels of these products that require special venlaon should not be ignored and the “Product Safety Data Sheet” reports should be read carefully. When welding such materials, it may be necessary to wear a gas mask. Keeping the head out of the smoke cloud is the easiest way to protect against dangerous fumes and gases. Do not breathe fumes and gases, use air circulaon or mechanical venlaon equipment and wear a gas mask if adequate venlaon is not provided..

WELDING ARC CAN BURN: When welding or monitoring, suitable masks, filters and protecve glasses should be used to protect the eyes from splashes and rays emied by the welding arc. Skin should be protected with clothes made of flame resistant material. Persons in the immediate vicinity should be protected with suitable folding screens made of non-combusble materials and warned not to look at the welding arc and not to expose themselves to the arc beam. UV exposure to the eyes, even for a short me, can cause eye burns. Welding may not be noced unl hours aer exposure, but it is very disturbing and can even cause temporary blindness. Normally welding is a temporary condion, but

prolonged and frequent exposure to UV rays can cause permanent eye damage. As a protecon measure, it is necessary not to look at the arc light but to use a protecve welding goggles with an appropriate filter. The following table can be used for the selecon of suitable filters for arc welding with covered electrode.

Obtained from ANSI Z49.1-2005. As a rule, welding should be started with a dark protecve filter, then the work should be connued with a lighter filter that can adequately show the welded area, provided that it does not fall below the minimum level. Welding masks protect the head, face, ears and neck from the risk of electric shock, heat, sparks and fire.

WELDING SPARKS CAN CAUSE FIRE AND EXPLOSION: Keep flammable materials away from the welded area and place the fire exnguisher within easy reach. Sparks and hot materials that may form during the welding process can easily splash through thin cracks and even the ghtest openings. Do not weld on drums, barrels, tanks or materials without making sure that measures are taken to completely remove flammable and toxic gases. Never operate the machine in the presence of flammable gases, vapors or liquid fuels. Always consider the risk of fire as high temperatures may occur in the arc

welding. The temperature of the welding arc can reach 5000 ° C, but generally this heat alone is not the cause of fire. The risk of fire may consist of sparks or molten metals splashing around. These metals can bounce ten meters away. Therefore, keep flammable materials away from the welding environment. Also, make sure that your workpiece does not come into contact with any material that may ignite when heated. Materials that can

Page 9: SAW 1000 SAW 1250€¦ · Kolarc Makine İmalat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş Address : Kargalıhanbaba OSB Mh. Organize Sanayi 3. Sk. No:8 Hendek / SAKARYA Tel/Fax : 0 (264) 502 24 20

7

be ignited by contact; liquids (gasoline, oil, paint, thinner and the like), solids (wood, cardboard, paper and the like) and gases (acetylene, hydrogen and the like). Observe the welded medium. If there are systems operang with petrol or hydraulic oil in the vicinity and you are unable to move the welding medium or the system, put a fire-resistant screen in between. If you are welding high or on a ladder, make sure that there is no flammable or explosive material below. Also keep in mind that slag and sparks can spill over people nearby. Special precauons must be taken when welding in dusty environments. Dust parcles can burn and cause a sudden fire or explosion. Do not start welding or cung unless you are familiar with the flammability and volality of dust in the environment and have been examined and approved by a qualified and authorized person. Before starng welding, check the surface of your workpiece for flammable or flammable coang. When welding is interrupted, make sure that the electrode holder does not touch the ground or the workpiece. If you are welding within ten meters of flammable materials, keep an observer with you. This observer should observe where the sparks and splashes are going and should have easy access to fire exnguishers when necessary. Aer the welding is finished, check with the observer for half an hour aer the welding for any fumes. As in other emergency situaons, the first rule is not to panic in case of welding accidents. Depending on the size of the fire, set the fire alarm to alert others, nofy the fire department, turn off the welding machine and e xit the fire exits as quickly as possible.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT: Switch off the power using the switch on the fuse box before working on the machine. Make the electrical connecons in accordance with the regulaons in force. EARTHING: For your safety and trouble-free operaon of the machine, the power supply cables must be connected to a properly earthed socket. ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT: Check the condion of the electrode cables, supply cables and cables connected to the machine regularly. Replace any problemac parts with new ones in case of any inconvenience. To avoid any risk of arc flash and fire, do not place the electrode holder directly on the welding table or on a surface that is in contact with the work clamp. ELECTRICAL AND MAGNETIC FIELD CAN BE HARMFUL TO HUMAN HEALTH: Electricity flowing through conductors creates an electromagnec field. This electromagnec field can be effecve on devices such as pacemakers. Welders using pacemakers should consult a physiotherapist before operang the machine. Electrical and magnec fields can also cause other unknown health problems. MOVING PARTS CAN COMPRESS YOUR HANDS: Do not place your hands near the fan and moving parts on the machine.

INSTALLATION AND OPERATOR INSTRUCTIONS Locaon and Environment (Read this secon carefully before installing or operang the machine): In order to ensure long life and reliable operaon of this machine, it is useful to take some simple prevenve measures menoned below. 1. Do not place or operate the machine on a surface with an inclinaon of more than 15 °. 2.
