people struggle to meet their basic
needs,¹ experiencing the shame and
isolation of life in poverty.
Over 1.7 billion people don’t have
access to the financial tools needed
to grow businesses, save money
safely, and make other household
improvements.2

Almost 1 in every 4 people globally is unbanked.
We believe investing in men and women living in
poverty unlocks their God-given talents and skills,
equipping them to provide for their families and flourish.

that empower families to put their
skills to work, regain dignity, and build
healthy relationships.
Whether it’s eating more nutritious
meals, gaining confidence, or finding

from their pooled savings, and a
community to care for each other’s

SG (savings group) Multiply is HOPE’s
initiative to expand the reach and
impact of church-based savings
groups. Recognizing that the need
for this holistic transformation tool far
exceeds HOPE’s expansion capacity
as one organization, we equip other
organizations to start savings groups
in churches and communities they
already serve.
Over several years, HOPE
walks alongside implementing
organizations, training them to
launch and sustain Christ-centered
savings groups that complement or
enhance the organization’s church-
based work in poverty alleviation.
In this way, more people will join
savings groups in communities HOPE
would otherwise be unable to reach.
