INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN "THE CYCLING MAYORS" -- A PRE-EVENT TO THE SEVENTH ASIA-PACIFIC URBAN FORUM (APUF7) IN PENANG, MALAYSIA

Warmest greetings from George Town, Penang! The seventh Asia-Pacific Urban Forum (APUF7) will be held in Penang, Malaysia, for the first time from 15 to 17 October 2019. The forum, themed "Future of Asia and Pacific Cities: Transformative Pathways to Achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development", aims to gather urban multi-stakeholders, civil society, the academia and policymakers from local and national governments to discuss emerging and critical urban development issues. As the host city for APUF7, the City Council of Penang Island is holding a pre-event, "The Cycling Mayors" on 14 October 2019 in the build-up to the Forum. We welcome Mayors and City Administrators from various cities join us in cycling down Penang's very own bicycle lane along the coastline, as a show of commitment to improve the quality of the urban environment and mobility, specifically in creating a Cycleable City. We look forward for your support and participation!
