Under the blood of the Passover Lamb

When God was determined to destroy the first born of man and beast in Egypt, through His grace He provided a way for Israel to escape the plague. If Israel would put the blood of the lamb on the door posts and lintel of the house, God would spare those in the house.

Notice that Grace gave the plan, but Israel in faith had to paint the blood of the lamb on the door.

The Question: How did CHRIST Tell us to come under His Blood?

In the rest of this study, we are going to look at the common plan taught by evangelical churches and compare that to what the scripture says. This study in no way denies grace or faith. It is answering the question above.

Coming under the BloodHow Men Teach It-1

You must confess that Jesus is God, that He has authority over your life, that He died on the cross and rose from the dead to forgive your sin. By faith you believe and are made right with God.

Page 15: Saved by Grace through Faith Ephesians 2:8,9: For by grace you have been save through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of

Coming under the BloodHow Men Teach It-2

The Bible says, For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. God wants you to trust Him now by calling on the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, for salvation.

Would you like to do that: Are you willing to turn to God from a life style of sin and confess Jesus as Lord of your life?

Page 17: Saved by Grace through Faith Ephesians 2:8,9: For by grace you have been save through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of

Coming under the BloodHow Men Teach It-4

If so, pray this prayer:Dear Lord Jesus,I know I am a sinner and need forgiveness from You. I believe you died on the cross and rose from the dead so that I might receive eternal life. I turn from my sins and ask for forgiveness from you. Right now I trust You as my Savior and will follow you as my Lord.

Could you agree with contents of the two previous slides? Most people would recognize that the contents of slides 1-3 of How Men Teach It and slides 1,2 of What Christ Expects teach the same thing. Where is the difference then?

The Testimony of Acts of the Apostles

We urge that you make a serious study of the book of Acts and look at the conversions of sinners to Christ found in this book.

Try as we may, we find no evidence in the story of conversions to Christ of any one coming under the blood of Jesus by saying the prayer in slide 4 of How Men Teach It.

Why Baptism?

•Since Christ commands baptism, it is the point at which we show we have faith which produces obedience.

•Man tells you to demonstrate this with a prayer.

COMING UNDER THE BLOOD• Israel was saved by grace through faith

when they painted the blood of the lamb on the door. They had to manifest their faith in simple obedience to the word of God. Without this obedience, they would have had the plague strike them just as it did the Egyptians.

COMING UNDER THE BLOOD

• We likewise by grace through faith are saved from the plague of sin. We like- wise must have the blood of the Lamb painted on us to escape the plague. We manifest our faith in simple obedience to the will of God by being baptized into Christ (coming under His Blood) according to His command.

Page 32: Saved by Grace through Faith Ephesians 2:8,9: For by grace you have been save through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of

COMING UNDER THE BLOOD• Israel earned nothing by acting upon the

command of God. They simply trusted the word of God and acted in faith.

• We earn nothing when we act upon the command of Christ to be baptized. We simply trust the word of Christ and act in faith.
