Save the Dates for April, 2013
On March 9th 16 Civitan members and their families helped with United Way to fill over 1400 food bags for local student in the Phoenix area. The work project lasted a little over 2 hours and bags were packed for the next two weeks. It was a cold and rainy day in Phoenix but that did not stop us. Civitans are strong in spirit!

6th15th10thAbout the Tea
March 2nd was the annual High Tea fundraiser for Lura Turner Homes. This year’s speaker was Margaret Pellegrin, one of only three remaining munchkins from the Wizard of Oz.
The tea first began in 1999 and was created by former Executive Director of Lura Turner Homes Joyce Ridge. Over the years the tea has raised over half a million dollars to support the Lura Turners homes residents. The tea is now run by Kristi Schrank and Melissa Faulkner. In addition to tea, sandwiches, scones, and dessert, guests also enjoy music, a guest speaker, and raffle. This year our guests ranged in age from 2 years to almost 100.
