MONTE-CARLO - From Sunday 12 January at the Hotel Hermitage, the auction house will exhibit the lots for its Jewellery, Fine Watches, le Temps est Féminin and Hermès Winter Collection sales, which year after year achieve more than €10M in total sales.

In an increasingly dynamic competitive environment, Artcurial is proving its ability to appeal to an ever-growing audience of international collectors in the Principality. In the July session last year, 80% of sales by volume were to foreign buyers representing 38 different nationalities, attesting to the international attraction of the sales organised by Artcurial in Monaco.

The 14, 15 and 16 January 2020 will be another opportunity for Artcurial to confirm itself as the frontrunner on the Riviera. The most exceptional pieces will be showcased under the hammer of François Tajan.

Starting with a splendid selection of pocket watches and vintage timepieces that will be presented at the sale on 14 January at 6pm, by the Fine Watches department directed by Marie Sanna Legrand.Also of note are some extremely rare pieces, like an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref.15305ST. This is one of the last 39mm models produced from the 1000 pieces made (estimate: €40,000 - 60,000). A Rolex Submariner ref.5513, new to the market and complete with its dive log, will also be on offer (estimate: €80,000 - 120,000).As for ladies’ watches, the Piaget maison will once again be the star of the show at the highly anticipated themed sale, le Temps est Féminin, which will take place on Thursday 16 January at 2pm.

The second day of these sessions will be devoted entirely to jewellery, the Artcurial department directed by Julie Valade. There will be a first segment at 2pm, and a second at 6pm. Amongst the masterpieces being showcased will be a pair of “Shirine” drop earrings in 18K yellow gold, decorated with sapphires, emeralds and diamonds, by Marina B, who shaped the renaissance of high jewellery in the late 20th century (estimate: €12,000 – 18,000).The stand-out, must-have lots include some Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambras, a Cartier kingfisher corsage clip and a Caesar “compression” decorated with round sapphires, diamonds and an amethyst and featuring a panel with an engraving of the Virgin and Child. This lot has an estimate of €12,000 - 15,000.The auction house will also present a stunning set of unique pieces an “Aditi” necklace and earrings by Boucheron in 18K grey gold, consisting of graduated golden South Sea cultured pearls and decorated with diamonds (estimate: €15,000 - 20,000).

The Fashion Arts & Vintage Hermès department will conclude the three days of sales on 16 January at 11am. Artcurial classics will be joined by exquisite limited editions in exotic leather, such as a Birkin 30 bag in rouge H saltwater crocodile, estimated at €20,000 - 30,000 and a Mykonos blue ostrich bag estimated at €15,000 - 25,000. This always highly-coveted sale is an opportunity to assemble an exceptional array of Hermès bags for the pleasure of connoisseurs of the famous calèche.
