Who We Serve

About Camp Sunshine…

Camp Sunshine of Aurora is a summer camp utilizing proactive, evidence-based practices, while incorporating your child’s IEP goals or 504 accommodations. Children are provided an individualized routine along with off-site outings to encourage independence and functional skills. Supports may include: • Social skill groups with peer models • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) • Visual schedules and social stories • Reinforcement-based interventions • Sensory Activities

Date: 4 weeks in July

Days: Monday — Thursday Time: 9:00 am — 2:45 pm Where: Leighton Elementary School Ages: Pre K – High School Class Size: 6 campers per classroom

We provide services for children with a variety of special needs to include physical, neurological, sensory, and

cognitive disabilities, such as:

● Autism ● Down Syndrome ● Apraxia, Speech & Language Needs • ADHD ● Cerebral Palsy ● Traumatic Brain Injury ● Sensory Processing Disorder

Camp staff will hold an Open House and conduct an intake interview prior to camp to ensure that programming is designed to meet the specific needs of each learner.

Camp Activities Include:

• Weekly Field Trips and Outings • Art and Music • Drama and Cooking • Therapy Dogs

• Gross & Fine Motor Activities • Academic Readiness
