Delivers WOW Factor for Atlantic

Energy

Overview:

Atlantic Energy is a private upstream oil and gas

company founded by Nigerian and international

exploration and production executives with an

extensive track record, market-leading insight and

experience in the Nigerian independent E&P sector.

The Challenge:

Atlantic Energy needed an AV solution that delivered

a WOW factor not only from its functionality, but

importantly from an aesthetic design perspective

which had to perfectly fit within and complement the

organisation's prestigious offices located in London,

Lagos and Zurich.

"I had to be sure that the solution would enable any of

our two Co-CEOs to walk into any of our locations and

immediately be able to operate the AV solution

installed in their individual offices and the boardroom,"

Before talking to RGB's channel partner, Cyberhomes, d'Apice was looking at an AV solution which involved

liaison with various companies each delivering just one component i.e. the networking, telephony, lighting,

blind and shade control and video conferencing of the overall solution.

"Dealing with different AV suppliers meant there was no single provider controlling the installation and

ensuring that all the different elements successfully worked together or delivering a single control system for

all of the elements," said d'Apice. "Added to this potential complexity I had no single point of contact when I

needed to discuss or check on any part of the installation."

The Solution

As soon as Cyberhomes started talking to d'Apice, the team quickly understood that the Savant Systems

LLC's solution, which brings the familiarity and intuitive nature of the Apple® user interface to commercial

control, would enable it to deliver a prestigious control system for Atlantic Energy's prestigious installation.

"We wasted no time in liaising with RGB, Savant's exclusive distributor for the UK/Ireland, to ensure that we

received the necessary Savant training and accreditation" commented Andy Mack, Cyberhomes' Co-founder

and Director.

solution that could be simply controlled by Savant's

Apple-based cost effective, easy to use commercial

As Apple is by and large Atlantic Energy's platform

of choice, d'Apice was delighted when Cybehomes

recommended the Savant solution as his CEOs

and senior management team are completely at

home with the Apple user interface.

Savant's control system allows Atlantic Energy's

users to operate the AV solution via any iOS

device, but the primary control device in the London

office is the iPad®.

"The features and functionality of Savant's control system, with native OSX processing at its heart, means that

the integration between different AV sub-systems is second to none," added Mack. "From my perspective,

never before has it been possible to deploy such a slick user interface, which even the less technical user can

understand."

Atlantic Energy's London receptionist uses the Savant control system to set up the board room and each of

the Co-CEOs’ offices to meet their individual requirements. This could include ensuring that the boardroom is

ready for a video conference by turning on the video system, right down to 'frosting' partition glass to provide

privacy.

From their desk, the receptionist can also ensure that the lighting, including operation of the blinds, in each

Co-CEO’s office is as each Co-CEO prefers. A key feature with regard to controlling the AV solution in these

offices is that this can take place without the need for access.

The Savant system enables the receptionist to control the background music within the reception area. At the

end of each day the system's 'goodnight' icon allows the controlled areas to be easily and quickly shut shown.

The ability to have instant access to various audio

sources was important to Atlantic Energy and the

integration with iTunes Match was a key factor in

the choice of the Savant system as it enabled

Cyberhomes to create personalised playlists for the

reception area. This means that any Atlantic Ener-

gy administrator in any location can easily manage

and make the required audio available to the Lon-

don, Lagos and Zurich office locations.

As the installation progressed d'Apice needed

additions to the AV solution and Cyberhomes had

to think and move quickly in order to accommodate

these requirements without delaying the project.

The flexibility of Savant's control system made this

easier and enabled Cyberhomes to install

unexpected additions including an increase in AV

zones, with no problem.

With the installation of Atlantic Energy's London

office completely up and running, Cyberhomes

plans to prefabricate and commission the

installations for the Lagos and Zurich locations,

ship them out and carry out the final install on-site.
