After viewing thefilm, a panel of Atlanta’s top dance scholars, performers, and choreographerswill unpack the societal shifts in dance presentation structure. Panelists willnegotiate the difference in 20th century mainstream film performance andtoday’s socially conscious concert dance theatre performance styles.

DAWN AXAM: HONORING A LEGEND Dawn Axam has been choreographing and educatingdancers for over 30 years. Dawn received a BFA in Danceand theatre from the Tisch School of the Arts at New YorkUniversity and a MA from Lesley University in Arts andEducation.
Dawn Axam is also the Founder and Director of the Axam Dance Theatre Experience; amodern dance company in Atlanta, Georgia. Please join us as we honor this extraordinarydancer and community innovator.
