In 2011, the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra is here to help Saskatoon teachers bring music to life in their school communities.  We aim to provide exciting live music experiences that complement the school curriculum while inspiring and motivating students to reach their full potential. This year, the SSO offers you an excellent program for schools to connect with professional musicians. There’s something for everyone in our education season. Music teachers and students will enjoy our school concert programs of ‘Elements of Music’, or ‘Music through Time’.

For the High Schools — The Saskatoon Orchestra Chambers Orchestra will perform and interact with Band / Music students in the schools band/music room or the venue of your choice. Master Classes are available to provide an opportunity for high school students to work individually with a Saskatoon Symphony musician or visiting guest artist and perform in front of their peers. This program is ideal for grades 9-12. Sectionals offer students the opportunity to participate in individual instrument sections and work with a Saskatoon Symphony musician on concepts and issues to be determined by the teacher. It also provides an opportunity for aspiring

young musicians to gain valuable performance experience working alongside professional musicians. Workshops cover concepts such as posture, breathing and techniques, and are for grades 4–12.

We hope you will invite the Saskatoon Symphony Chamber Orchestra into your school and perhaps we will see you and your students at one of the evening main stage concerts throughout 2011.

Our Masters Series events continue to provide an outstanding main stage experience with the full Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra along with international conductors, world premieres and exciting soloists. We are always updating exciting content on our website and Facebook, including special offers, behind the scenes information and photos.
