Introduction

Kushang Arunbhai Mistry (5th Semester Computer Engineering

Department) is an active NSS Student volunteer having talent in

cultural domain like Acting and in literature domain like Essay Writing,

was nominated from Sarvajanik College of Engineering and

Technology for the National Integration camp at Vishwakarma

Government Engineering College, Ahmedabad on behalf of Gujarat

Technological University.

Team Gujarat (GTU) involved total of 10 Volunteers from

whole Gujarat State along with one program officer. I participated in

various activities as Essay writing, Ideathon, Yatharth Bharat and

other Technical events. Performance of Gujarat team was good and

appreciated by all.

B. Sessions to be continued

An orientation ceremony started with all the volunteers

having more than 350 density and honourable dignitaries.

The very first day started with needed exercise YOGA. In

that session, we learned about the importance of the yoga and effects of

the yoga on human body.

D. Welcoming ceremony

In this session, all dignitaries welcomed by the gift of words,

flowers and books. All volunteers introduced one by one state and told

about specialities of their states. We interacted with each other and made

true Integration possible.

On that day, there was a session called Making of NSS

Garden having main motto to plant more trees and save the environment

by saving more and more trees.

A. Different cultural performances by different States

Every cultural evening had it’s own charm. 5 days out od 7

days, there was cultural evenings containing majorly Folk Dance and

Folk Music. Counting from Maharashtra to Tamilnadu, Chhattisgarh,

Kerala and Himachal Pradesh all team volunteers represented their

culture fabulously.

Gujarat team performed Garba very well. Mr. Arvind Vegda,

creator of the Gujarati folk song Bhai Bhai was there for cultural and

music evening. He sung Garba songs as well famous Gujarati songs and

around three hours all volunteers from whole India played Garba. Yes,

that was fantastic moment and proud to be a Gujarati but at that moment

first we all are Indians.

On the occasion of Independence day of India we celebrated

the day by Making a Human Tri-Colour flag and Pared as well in honour

of all martyrs who gave their lives for the Nation.

Total of fifteen volunteers were selected from whole

Integration camp having more than 350 volunteers across the India. We

practiced everyday in early in the morning and some basic commands

like, Turn left or Turn Right.

On the Independence day, we volunteers marched at the

Headquarters of Gujarat Technological University and saluted to our

mother, our nation India.

A. Rally near to VGEC Campus

Near to Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, rally

for integration was done. Volunteers were in their traditional dresses and

holding posters of their institute or Regions. Gujarat Team was also in

their traditional dresses and represented ourselves among all other

regions and universities or institutes.

8. Day of departure

A. Felicitation ceremony of all volunteers

Long journey of seven days, having knowledge sessions,

practice sessions, expert session, sight seeing, breakfast sessions, lunch,

sweet night with GTU volunteers and lot more. After all of these a time

come to leave all and make wise impression in everyone’s heart.

Conclusion

A. What we learned

At the end of the Integration camp, we learned that, although

we are from different region, at very first we are Indians.

Yes, we have different cultures, different languages and

different talents that’s the Beauty in Diversity.

We are volunteers and always ready for nation, whenever

needed. We have to think innovative and passionate about the growth of

our country. It’s true that villages are hearts of India and with them, we

are going Digital as well as we are Globalising. Proud to be Indian.

I am very thankful to our program officer Prof. Niket

Shashtri and other supporting faculties of Sarvajanik College of

Engineering and Technology as well GTU faculties who selected me and

give chance to represent our Culture on such a great platform.
