INSTITUTE PROFILE: It has been said that great minds think alike and when great minds work alike,

work together they can create miracles capable of transforming the society. The same has been proven true by the pioneering personalities of Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Research. As an enthusiastic and dynamic socialist Shri Ramanbhai Sukhabhai Patel, Chairman, Shri Khedut Sahakari Khand Udyog Mandali Ltd., Bardoli took an encouraging step, in the direction of success by establishing a Centre for Excellence known as “FACULTY OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH (FETR)” in the year 2010. The institute is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Ahmadabad.

DEPARTMENT PROFILE OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING:The Electrical Engineering Department has been established with a vision to impart

practical knowledge of important technical aspects in coordination with various Electrical industries & power sector companies & help students to specialize in the field. It is equipped with instruments and learned faculties.

FACULTY STRENGTH:The Department has 19 Assistant professors, 3 Pro-term lecturers & 5 support staff

to keep it functioning efficiently. The department has 2 gold medalist faculties in their respective PG courses from G.T.U

FACULTY ACHIEVMENTS:1. Prof. G. S. Patel has secured “GOLD MEDAL” in M.E. from Gujarat Technological

University, A’bad. In 2013.2. Prof. N. K. Vadera has secured “GOLD MEDAL” in M.E. Electrical (I.E.).from

Gujarat Technological University, A’bad. In 20143. Prof. G. S. Patel has published a paper titled “Fuel and Cost Optimization of Grid

connected MTG-PV based Hybrid System” in the CPRI”. She has also published a paper titled “Distributed Generation & Its Impact on Power System.” In the CPRI.

4. Prof. P. D. Solanki has presented a paper titled ”An LLCL Power Filter For Single-Stage Single Phase Grid-Tied PV Inverter”, at the International conference on R&D in engineering technology & science, 2013.

5. Prof. N. J. Dhimmar, Prof. P. D. Solanki& Prof. M. P. Mishra have presented research paper titled “Voltage sag mitigation by Dynamic Voltage Restorer” at the International conference on R&D in engineering, technology & science, 2013.

6. Prof. N. J. Patel has presented a paper titled ”Partial Discharge Detection- An Overview” in the Journal Of Information, Knowledge And Research In Electrical Engineering, April 2013.

7. Prof. J. P. Desai has presented a paper titled “Electromagnetic Model of an Arc” in the International Journal of Advancements in Research & Technology.

8. Prof. M.N. Patel has published a paper titled “Novel ASIC flow for implementing multirate FIR filter from system spec to verification in IJARCEE.

9. Prof. J.I. Jariwala has presented paper on Economic “Emission Load Dispatch by Stochastic Weighing Method” in 4th international congress of environmental research,

10.Prof. N. K. Vadera has published paper titled “Modeling of PMSM and FOC of PMSM based on SPWM with MATLAB/SIMULINK” in IJRAT

LABORATORY INFRASTRUCTURE:The Department has well quipped labs of various fields. The department is enriched

with Elements of Electrical Engineering lab, Basic Electronics lab, Electrical Circuits and Networks lab, Analogue and Digital Electronics lab, Electrical Machines lab, Power Electronics lab, Microprocessor and Microcontroller lab, Control Theory lab, Electrical and Electronics Measurement lab, Workshop lab, High Voltage Engineering lab and Power System Computer Lab. The institutes procure latest instruments every now and then to keep upgraded. The Department also has three computer labs provided with almost all necessary software mentioned in GTU.

RESULT ANALYSIS OF ELECTRICAL- 10 (FINAL YEAR) STUDENTS

SUMMER-TRAINING 2013 DETAILS: The Department encourages students to take up summer training opportunity and

interact with various industries. Recently all the final year students went for industrial training in industries such as ESSAR HAZIRA, KAKRAPAR ATOMIC POWER STATION KAKRAPAR, GSECL, UKAI, HYDRO POWERPLANT UKAI, L & T, HAZIRA, SURAT, KRIBHKO, HAZIRA SURAT etc.
