Admission ProcedureThe admission form for all courses is attached along with prospectus. The prescribed application form must be lled by the candidates in their own handwriting.

The following documents needs to be submitted at the time of admission:

· A copy of Certicate having passed the last examination.

· A copy of Matriculation Mark Sheet indicating date of birth.

· A copy of 10+2 or equivalent examination with detail mark sheet.

· Character Certicate from school /college.

· SC/ST/BC, Rural Area Certicate attested by 1st class magistrate.

· An eligibility migration certicate for candidate who have passed from board/university other than Punjab boards and Universities for B.Sc. (N) only. (If selected, migration certicate has to be deposited within 15 days of their admission.)

· Proof of residence.

· Ten recent passport size photographs.

All certicates need to be submitted in original at the time of admission.

The Institure strictly follows the guidelines and schedule of admission to courses for the academic sessions issued by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences and Punjab Nurses Registration Council. The applicants/prospective students are advised to go through the detailed guidelines available on the respective websites for latest updates.

M.Sc. Nursing M.Sc. Nursing is a program for experienced practitioners who wish to develop their professional career and enhance their knowledge of research and evidence-based healthcare. The aim of the program is to evolve service-delivery models with a strong emphasis on clinical leadership. This pathway enables the students to assume the roles of nursing educators, nurse practitioners, and administrators in future. The coverage and levels of academic sophistication are at par with nursing taught anywhere in the world.

Commenced in 2013, this course has been approved by Indian Nursing Council New Delhi, Punjab Nurse Registration Council and is afliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. The seat distribution as per specialization is as follows:

Admission procedure and guidelines as laid down by the Baba Farid University of Health Science are followed. Candidates should have obtained certicate in B.Sc(N)/B.Sc (Post Basic Nursing) from an institution recognized by the Punjab Nursing Registration Council.

The candidates should have passed B.Sc Nursing /B.Sc. Post basic nursing with minimum 55% marks from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot /any institution recognized by Indian Nursing Council from a recognized university. In case candidates has passed qualifying examination from IGNOU, New Delhi, study center must be recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) New Delhi.

B.Sc. Nursing 4 Years

The B.Sc. Nursing is conceived both as a degree with substantial intellectual content, and as an enabling degree for higher studies. The structure and contents of the course make it an integrated and inter-disciplinary program with academic exibility and choice. The candidates wishing to work in the global healthcare sector prefer this course. The degree can be upgraded by undergoing M.Sc. Nursing and the postgraduates can work as nurse educators in Nursing Colleges. This course will provide the students with an opportunity to develop and evaluate their specialist skills, examine contextual issues, and synthesis in practice; facilitating the provision of quality outcomes for each individual patient.

B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic)

This full time program offers qualied nurses a comprehensive research based nursing education and encourages critical analysis if professional practice. Many of the brightest students take this route to careers in research and academics. In the entire curriculum, heavy emphasis is laid on building of strong fundamentals both in theory and practice.

This program is suitable for practitioners, educators, and managers from healthcare disciplines who are developing autonomous practice, supporting education and practice development, or exercising leadership.

General Nursing and Midwifery

The midwifery program meets the ongoing professional development needs of midwives to enable them to work effectively within a rapidly changing environment. This program lays emphasis on clinical training in afliated hospitals, assisting them in developing their professional career, and acquires advanced knowledge, understanding, and skills with regard to research and evidence based midwifery practice. The pathway aims to enable midwives to critically evaluate maternity service delivery in government and corporate health sector.

Located among lush farms of Kurali, Saraswati Nursing Institute offers an opportunity to co-exist with nature.

Classroom Spacious classrooms are well equipped with the latest audiovisual facilities for a comforting learning culture.

Multi Purpose Hall A large multipurpose hall accommodating around 300 students offers platform for celebration of academic workshops, extra curricular activities, major festivals, and other events.

Laboratories All the laboratories are well equipped as per Indian nursing council (INC) norms. The state of the art laboratories having full size dummies for teaching mock patient care by way of demonstrations to the students, Obstetric and Gynaecology lab, Community Health Lab, Anatomy and Nutrition laboratories have been set up to facilitate practical training of the students.

Statutory Warning · Saraswati Nursing Institute

is a zone of ‘zero-tolerance’ for ragging

All junior members are expressly warned to steer clear of the anti-social practice of ragging. Any student found indulging in ragging is likely to be punished appropriately, which may include expulsion from the institute, suspension from the institution, or classes for limited period or ne with apology. If the individuals committing or abetting ragging are not/cannot be identied, collective punishment can be awarded to act as a deterrent.

· Saraswati Nursing Institute is a No Smoking Zone

We believe in promoting a tobacco-free environment. As a step in that direction, smoking is banned in hostels and college premises.

Sports and Extra Curricular Activities Students are encouraged to participate in the sports and cultural activities that are integral to the vibrancy of the campus. The college offers admirable indoor games and outdoor sports infrastructure. This lends an inter-disciplinary character and brings out the creative streaks of the students.

Code of ConductStudents are required to be poised in a dignied manner when they attend lectures, tutorials, and

practical, or in the hostels. No casual approach is acceptable, as it inuences attitude and affects

the total learning milieu, which every student is duty bound to respect and enrich.

1. Rooms should be kept clean and tidy. Students are fully responsible for loss/damages of

their own as well as college property supplied to them. Each student is being provided a

table, chair, bed, and independent cupboard.

2. The closets must be properly locked. Jewellery and expensive items are not permitted in the

rooms.

3. The warden will make allotment of the rooms.

4. Wastage of water and electricity will render the students liable to disciplinary action.

5. Students can go home for two days in a month, provided no hospital duty and classes are

missed, with prior permission obtained by parents from the principal of the institute.

6. Telephonic requests for seeking leave will not be entertained during the training.

7. Parents are requested to come and inquire about the progress of the students from the class

teacher/principal on any Saturday during working hours.

8. Parents/relatives can visit the students during visiting hours only i.e. from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00

p.m. in visiting room on Saturdays only. Relatives, whose photographs have been submitted

at the time of admission, will be allowed to visit the students in the visiting room.

9. Parents are not allowed to meet their wards while on hospital duty.

10. In case of sickness, student should report to the Principal/ Warden.

11. Parents and relatives are not allowed in the hostel rooms.

12. Parents must give the written undertaking/ consent in writing to the Principal if they want

students to travel alone.

13. Training can be terminated any time, in case of gross misconduct.
