1 BIRLA VIDYA NIKETAN Sarala Birla Group of Schools Activity Report- MARCH,19 EVENTS/ACTIVITIES AT BVN DATE EVENT DESCRIPTION ATTENDED BY April to February, 19 Life skills 2018-19 Value Education session for students through videos and enriching discussions. In diverse ways the values of empathy, justice, hard work etc., were imparted with great care and enthusiasm. Students of Classes- VI to VIII Heritage Tour to Statue of Unity Students went on a heritage tour to Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad and the imposing Statue of Unity. The students also visited Gandhi Ashram, the much beloved home of Mahatma Gandhi. 73 students of class XI accompanied by 7 teachers 27 th March, 19 Welcome of class 6 The Student Council organized an event for the incoming students of VI. The event aimed at ensuring the students' smooth transition to senior school. The council members interacted with their juniors and offered them valuable insight about the various clubs and the rules and regulations that are to be followed by all. Students of class VI 28 th March, 19 Visit To Kiran Nadar Museum Of Art The students visited the art gallery and observed the works of the famous artist Arpita Singh. They were later involved in an interesting workshop titled ‘The Art of Seeing’ by the artist Kavita Issar Batra. The students spent time collecting ordinary objects from the surrounding lawns and later created brilliant pieces of abstract art. Students of class VI A 29 th March, 19 Socio- economic Village Survey. Students went to Wazirpur and Mewka village, as part of a Socio-economic Village Survey. They spent time with the students of the local school as well as at the local anganwadi, and learnt a lot about how the villagers lead their everyday lives. Class XII Geography students

TOEFL workshop

BVN The workshop was conducted by Ms. Sheena Kumar, an expert trainer of TOEFL. She highlighted the importance of TOEFL for students who are applying abroad. She discussed in detail the contents of the testing material, focusing on how to attempt the questions. Teachers were separately given an overview of the assessment process.

Visit to RashtrapatiBhavan

BVN The bvnite group was taken for a guided tour by an official guide from the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The students walked through the historical corridors of the palace. They were shown various significant areas of the building which included the durbar hall, central hall, the drawing rooms , banquet hall, the hall of carpets , the famous ball room, an overview of the Mughal gardens etc.

Minds On Hands ON III – An interschool experimental physics workshop

Innovative experiments on optics & radioactivity were performed by the students under the expert guidance of Prof Sarmistha Sahu. To perform the experiments on totally unknown topics by reading up the question paper and then to complete the task in limited time was a challenge.
