2 Introduction/concept    Entireangle,  is  an  app  that  allows  you  to  share  virtual  reality  contents  with  your  family  and  friends.  It’s  a  new  way  of  capturing  and  sharing  your  experiences  with  your  phone  and  VR  device.

It  is  an  innovative  way  of  seeing  the  world  through  the  point  of  view  of  others.    In  VR  mode,  you  can  increase  your  vision  field,  allowing  you  to  see  in  every  direction  from  the  point  the  image  was  captured.  The  app/website  allows  you  to  share  your  contents  as  well  as  explore  the  contents  created  by  other  people.  Entireangle  is  easily  compatible  with  cardboard,  the  affordable  VR  headset  created  by  google.    For  the  purposes  of  this  portfolio  all  the  spherical  photos  are  taken  with  the  Theta  Ricoh.  Once  the  image  is  captured,  we  can  upload  it  to  the  VR  platform.  Once  the  image  is  uploaded,  you  can  easily  transform  it  into  a  popular  mirror  ball  or  tiny  planet  by  pressing  one  of  the  distorting  functions.

If  you  have  a  VR  headset,  simply  choose  VR  mode  in  the  app  and  place  you  phone  into  Cardboard.    Look  around  and  see  every  angle  of  the  photo.

Our  team  started  working  on  entireangle  as  an  easy  way  of  sharing  immersive  photos  and  videos.  We  aim  to  unify  VR  device  sharing  through  an  independent  platform.  We  are  different  from  other  VR  sharing  platforms  because  we  aim  to  create  an  easy  to  use,  universally  supported  VR  sharing  app.  Entireangle  is  an  online  mobile  photo  sharing,  video  sharing  and  social  network  that  enables  it’s  users  to  take  pictures  and  videos  and  share  them  in  a  variety  of  social  networking  platforms  such  as  Facebook,  Twitter,  Tumbler  and  Flicker.  Entireangle,  getting  the  flat  out  of  a  virtual  world.

Before  I  continue,  I  should  point  out  that  all  coding  (mostly  Meteor)  and  architecture  of  this  project  was  done  by  my  partner,  Adam  Choi.  I  have  only  been  responsible  of  the  visual  design  and  layout  elements  of  this  project.  We  are  currently  not  working  on  this  project.  However,  we  would  like  to  revisit  it  soon.

The  picture  below  is  the  same  picture.  It  was  taken  using  a  Theta  Ricoh  and  is  displayed  first  in  its  flatten  2D  form,  then  in  a  spherical  photo.

3 Preliminary  Sketches

This  is  the  main  page  of  the  website  version  of  entireangle.  It  features  the  top  photospheres,  a  video  on  how  to  use  the  app  and  a  paragraph  explaining  what  the  website  is.

This  is  the  gallery  page  entireangle.  It  features  the  top  photospheres,  which  are  determined  by  the  most  likes  and  comments  of  all  the  public  photospheres  on  the  website.

This  is  the  picture  view  page.  Once  you  select  an  individual  picture,  is  essentially  the  edit  and  sharing  page.  Also,  if  the  user  want  to  view  the  photosphere  in  VR  mode,  this  is  the  page  to  switch  to  that  function.

While  developing  the  design  for  the  UI  screens/pages  supporting  the  defined  user-‐system  interactions  using  sketching,  drawing,  and  diagraming  tools,  we  encounter  an  array  of  challenges  related  to  the  architecture  of  the  app/site.  Due  to  the  device  restrains  of  mobile  and  desktop  platforms,  designs  and  pathways/links  for  navigation  had  to  be  revised  and  revisited  to  flow  logically.    The  Overall,  the  navigation  of  the  app/website  is  still  lacking  and  needs  further  development.

I  included  these  sketches  primarily  to  illustrate  my  understanding  of  how  critical  layout  design  is  the  whole  process  creating  an  app/website.

4 Wire  Frames

These  images  are  a  collection  of  wire  frames  created  in  Balsamiq  Mockups  3.  I  recently  started  using  this  software.  It  is  a  great,  quick  and  easy  to  use  tool  in  the  preliminary  process.  It  also  is  a  clear  way  for  designers  and  programmers  to  communicate  ideas  and  make  changes  to  the  layout.    Starting  in  the  top  left  hand  corner  and  going  clockwise.

1.  The  about  page,  featuring  a  brief  biography  of  the  team  that  is  working  on  entireangle.

2.  The  users  profile  page,  which  includes  all  the  tabs  and  controls.

3.  The  picture  view  page,  which  has  the  VR  function.

4.  The  video  page,  which  explains  what  the  app  is  and  how  to  use  it.

5  The  main  web  page,  which  has  the  top  photospheres  from  the  site,  the  explanation  video  and  a  paragraph  explaining  how  to  use  it.

5 Web  Design

EntireAngle is a virtual reality site that aims to allow users to share their VR content through established social networks. At EntireAngle, our team strives to keep up with VR trends and work to create a universal VR content sharing app. At this time users can upload spherical videos and/or pictures. Then, that same content can be viewed using Oculus, Google Cardboard or other VR headset. The content can also be shared in thumbnail form via social networks.

This  page  features  some  screen  shots  of  different  parts  of  the  app  currently  available  in  the  google  play  store.  Please  kept  in  mind  that  the  main  focus  of  the  app  version  is  to  be  viewed  in  VR  mode  with  google  cardboard  or  other  VR  head  set.    Below  is  a  user  viewing  the  app  in  VR  mode
