After filming for nearly two years in 10 Northwest Alaska villages, Ethnographic filmmaker Sarah Betcher produced several short films for the University of Alaska Fairbanks funded by NOAA and the National Science Foundation. Sarah will discuss her community participatory approach to documentary filmmaking, including her stylistic choices for editing. Several completed short films will be screened, with a discussion of ethnographic filming in Alaska to follow.
