VOLLEYBALL CLINIC

On Monday and Tuesday of Week 10 some of our primary students were given the opportunity to work with

Justin Callahan, a coach from Volleyball SA.

Justin works closely with many Adelaide schools, running and assisting in their Volleyball programs.

Justin took the students through a whole range of skill development activities as well as some modified games

over the two days.

HOCKEY CLINIC

On 29 March Allendale was fortunate enough to have some members of the Cavaliers Hockey Club visit the

school and run workshops with our Year 2/3 - Yr 8 classes. They talked about the game itself and how you

can get involved in the sport. They also went through different drills where the students could practice their

skills with a hockey stick and rubber ball. They were able to play some half court games inside due to the wet

weather outside. All students enjoyed the workshop greatly.

CHINESE TEACHER VISIT

On Tuesday April 2 our Chinese teachers Lynn and George visited our school and conducted face to face-

lessons with the R - Yr 8 classes.

This was a wonderful opportunity for the students to meet the teachers face to face as this is normally a

lesson that is done via the Open Access College.

Our students embrace our Chinese cultural lessons and this is evident in the feedback from the Chinese

teachers.

Lynn quotes:

R/1, 1/2, 2/3 classes

It was great to see the students in person. The students were very engaged and keen to take part in the

class. The learning on line and the visit has enabled them to use their Chinese in a bingo game, chopstick

lessons and talk to and respond to puppets. The visit allowed me to put faces to names and meet the class

and talk to the teacher about Chinese and their learning.
