“SAP, the SAP logo, and the SAP Partner logo are trademarksor registered trademarks of SAP AG in Germany and in several other countries all over the world.”

When using the SAP Partner logo on-screen, make the logofunction as an active link to the public Web site of SAP(www.sap.com).

You must carefully consider SAP’s trademark usage guide-lines when mentioning SAP offerings in your materials orin connection with your own products or product names. You must always make a clear and unambiguous distinctionbetween your own solutions, products, and/or services andthe SAP offerings mentioned.

SAP accepts no responsibility for any violation of legal regulations regarding competition or trademarks by partners. In addition to these guidelines, country-specificregulations may apply.

Proper Use of Trademarks

Unregistered or pending trademarks bear the ™ symbol.Registered trademarks carry the ® symbol. A selection ofSAP trademarks, both registered and pending, as well as aselection of SAP offering names, are listed in this guide. Please use these names and their symbols according to the guidelines that follow.

The only use that does not require the symbols is a Web application or other on-screen presentation where thelow resolution of the medium renders the symbol illegible. However, please always include the correct trademark attribution statement as described on the following pages(see “Trademark Attribution”).

To ensure correct use of SAP trademarks, follow theseguidelines:

• Always refer to a trademark using the correctspelling with the correct capitalization. Do not alter the trademark in any way.For example, it is incorrect to say “sap® software” and “SAP Netweaver™ platform.” It is correct to say “SAP® software” and “SAP NetWeaver™ platform.” See the trademark list in this guide for correct spelling and capitalization. Contact your partner manager with any questions.

• Always use a trademark as a proper adjective, not a noun. For example, it is incorrect to say “You can use SAP tomanage your enterprise.” It is correct to say “You can use SAP® solutions to manage your enterprise.”

• Use a trademark as a proper adjective followed by a common-noun descriptor. An example of a common-noun descriptor is “software.”Examples of correct use are “SAP® software,” “SAP® xApps™packaged composite applications,” and “SAP NetWeaver™platform.” Always use an appropriate descriptor. See the trademark list within this guide for SAP trade-marks and appropriate descriptors.

• Include the appropriate symbol – ™ or ® – representing the trademark status. If repeated inclusion of the ™ or ® symbol is awkward or impractical, at a minimum you must include the symboland the common-noun descriptor upon the first use ofthe trademark in the title (if the name appears in the title)and also in the text. Subsequent to this initial use, thesymbol and descriptor need not appear with the name. For example: “The SAP NetWeaver™ platform is the openintegration and application platform that enables change.SAP NetWeaver helps companies align IT with their business.”

• The registered trademark on “SAP” applies to allgoods or services delivered by SAP – anything you can obtain from SAP. Therefore you say SAP® software, SAP® solution, SAP® application, SAP® offering, SAP® tool, SAP® solutionmaps, SAP® technology, SAP® services, and so on.

• Do not use a trademark in possessive form. For example, it is incorrect to say “SAP®’s software” or“SAP®’s R/3® Enterprise software” or “SAP’s NetWeaver™platform.” It is correct to “SAP® software” and “SAP® R/3®Enterprise software” and “SAP NetWeaver™ platform.”

• Do not use a trademark in plural form. For example, it is incorrect to say “The company hadthree SAP® R/3®s.” It is correct to say “The company hadthree systems running SAP® R/3®.”

• When referring to the SAP corporate entity ratherthan the SAP brand, trademark rules do not apply. That is, you do not use the ® symbol in statements such as “SAP announced today,” “SAP provides solutions tocustomers,” and “the SAP development team.” Similarly, you can use the possessive form “SAP’s” when referring tothe company, not to the brand. For example, you may say“SAP’s vision” and “SAP’s years of experience.”

Self-test: Ask yourself, “Am I referring to thecorporation, or to an SAP-brand offering or service?” If you are referring to an SAP-brand offering or service, use the ® symbol.

• The entire name “SAP NetWeaver” is a trademark of SAP. Therefore you do not put the ® symbol after “SAP” in this name. Use the ® symbol after “SAP” in the first mention of SAP that requires the trademark, such as“SAP® solutions” or “SAP® xApps™ packaged compositeapplications.”

• Always use a descriptor after “SAP xApps.”For most SAP offerings, you must use the common-noundescriptor (such as “solution”) upon first mention of the name in the document, but then may choose to omitit in subsequent mentions of the name in a document. An example of this is “The SAP NetWeaver™ platformsolves your business integration challenge. SAP NetWeaverallows your enterprise to grow seamlessly.” However, forSAP xApps packaged composite applications, use adescriptor upon every mention of the name to protectthe trademark. An example of correct usage is “SAP®xApps™ packaged composite applications” (first use) and“SAP xApps composite applications” (subsequent uses).Always include the “SAP” brand. That is, always refer to“SAP xApps composite applications,” never simply to“xApps composite applications.”

• Do not use the ® symbol in industry offering names, such as SAP for Automotive, unless there is no otheropportunity to use the ® symbol after “SAP” withinthe written piece. Here is a correct example: “SAP offers a comprehensiveset of solutions for oil and gas companies of all sizes operating in various business segments. SAP for Oil & Gassolutions address needs from wellhead to retail outlet and allows companies to be globally integrated while regionally focused. SAP® solutions help companies buildstrong relationship with supply chain partners, improvedecision making, and enhance organizational flexibility.”In the event that you have no opportunity to use the ®symbol after “SAP” unless it is in an industry portfolioname, do use the ® symbol. This may occur, for example,in a brief advertisement or sign. Here is a correct example:“Room 100: Conference on SAP® for Automotive.”

In any material that mentions any SAP trademark, youmust include the correct attribution statement based onthe following:

“<SAP TRADEMARKS> is/are the trademark(s) or registered trademark(s) of SAP AG in Germany and in several other countries.”

In your attribution statement, replace the placeholderphrase <SAP TRADEMARKS> with the names of the SAP trademarks mentioned in your material. Place thestatement either on the copyright page (which may be the case in a brochure) or at the end of a material if it hasno copyright page (in an advertisement or a press release, for example).

You may mention the names of SAP offerings whendescribing their compatibility with your own programs orapplications. But as an SAP partner or other third party, you may not include the name “SAP,” a logo of SAP, atrademark of SAP, the name of an SAP offering or similarvariations into your own product or service name, company name, domain name, or any of your logos.

When referring to product compatibility, you must make a clear distinction between your products or services andthose of SAP. The name of your offering and the name ofthe SAP offering must be clearly distinguished from oneanother either visually or by the wording. You can accom-plish this goal in a variety of ways in running text and inheadlines, signs, or other materials. Also, when referring to your product’s compatibility with an SAP offering, please mention your company name in addition to yourproduct name.

When expressing compatibility, you must not allow youroffering’s name to appear to include an SAP trademark. For example, names such as “mySAP™ Extender,” “mySAP™ ERP Mapper,” “Indexer for SAP NetWeaver™,”“NetWeaverExtension,” and any name that encompasses a trademark of SAP or an offering name of SAP, includingSAP Business One and mySAP All-in-One, are strictly prohibited.

Do not state or imply that your product is produced orauthorized by SAP. For example, do not represent yourtraining programs as “authorized SAP training.”

When you describe product compatibility, you may refer to an SAP offering name but never solely to compatibilitywith “SAP.”

Incorrect example:<Your company name> <your product name> for SAP

Correct example:<Your company name> <your product name> for usewith mySAP™ Business Suite solutions

When referring to an SAP offering name, please use thecomplete, correct SAP offering name. Refer to the selectionof SAP offering names within this guide or contact yourSAP partner manager for information.

Incorrect example: Our product runs with mySAP™.

Correct example: Our product runs with mySAP™ Business Suite solutions.

Compatibility References Within Running Text

In text sentences, you may use phrases such as the followingto refer to your offering’s compatibility with SAP software:

• “for use with…”

• “designed for use with…”

• “runs on…”

• “compatible with…”

However, you must take care to use them appropriately, as demonstrated in the following examples.

Correct examples:<Your company name> <your product name> is designed for use with SAP® R/3® software.<Your company name> <your product name> is compatible with SAP® R/3® software.

Do not use any grammatical construction that implies the SAP trademark or SAP offering name is part of youroffering’s name.

Unacceptable example:<Your company name> <your product name> formySAP™ ERP provides extended functionality.

The above example is unacceptable because the readercould interpret your product name to be “<Your productname> for mySAP ERP.” Change any such construction toclearly separate and distinguish your offering name fromthe SAP trademark.

Corrected example:<Your company name> <your product name> providesextended functionality for users of the mySAP™ ERP solution.

Compatibility References Within Headlines,Signage, Packaging, Labels, and Other Materials

It is particularly important to avoid making your productname appear to include an SAP trademark or an SAP offering name when the reference is in a title or headline,trade-show signage, product packaging, CD label, or anyother material.

Within headlines, signage, and other materials, you mayuse phrases such as the following to refer to your offering’scompatibility with SAP software:

• “for …”

• “for use with…”

• “designed for use with…”

• “runs on…”

• “compatible with…”

However, you must always clearly visually differentiateyour product name from the compatibility reference to an SAP offering.

Unacceptable examples:<Your company name> <your product name> formySAP™ Business Suite<Your company name> <your product name> for mySAP™ ERP

To correct this, use a type size for the SAP offering namethat is noticeably smaller than the type size for your offering name. Or use a different font or a different style, such as italics, for the SAP name.

Corrected examples:<Your company name> <your product name> for mySAP™ Business Suite

<Your company name> <your product name> for Use with mySAP™ ERP

The above examples are acceptable because your productname and the compatibility references “for mySAP™Business Suite” and “for Use with mySAP™ ERP” are visually set apart.

Another option would be to place your product name in the title and to show the compatibility reference as asubtitle in a different type size, font, or style.

Example:<Your company name> <your product name> for mySAP™ Business Suite

Self-Test for Avoiding Unacceptable Practices

Consider the following questions to determine if a particular product or service name, compatibility reference, marketing communication, or packaging may pose a problem to SAP and its trademarks:

• Does your product or service name include an SAP trademark or an SAP offering name or similar variations of these?

• Do you use an SAP trademark or an SAP offering name in a way that gives the impression that the SAP trademark or SAP offering name is part of your product or service name?

• Do you use just the term “for SAP” to refer to product compatibility?

• Does your offering name, or the usage in question, lead anyone to believe your offering is developed or authorized by SAP?

• Does your communication material show any logos of SAP (or variations of them) other than your permitted SAP Partnerlogo, your permitted SAP Certified Integration logo, or your permitted “Powered by SAP NetWeaver” endorsement logo?

If the answer to any of these questions is “Yes,” then you should change your product or service name, the compatibility reference, your marketing communication, or packaging to reflect proper usage.

SAP PARTNER BRANDING GUIDEREFERRING TO YOUR PRODUCT’S COMPATIBILITY WITH SAP SOFTWARE

Using the Phrase “Powered by”

Only use the phrase “powered by” in the “Powered by SAPNetWeaver” context. Do not use “powered by” to describecompatibility with other SAP offerings.

Guidelines for Using an SAP NetWeaverEndorsement Line

Always present the endorsement line as text, and never lock it up with your own corporate logo, the SAP Partner logo, or the SAP Certified Integration tagline (if applicable). You must surround the endorsement linewith sufficient clear space to separate it from nearby text or graphics. Typically, you should place the endorsementline as a subtitle when your company’s private-label prod-uct or service name is in the title. You must differentiatethe endorsement line from the title by using a smaller type size or italics. There are no SAP-mandated colors or fonts for the SAP NetWeaver endorsement line. Youshould use your own design style while adhering to these guidelines.

Please note the entire name “SAP NetWeaver” is a trademark of SAP. Always place the ™ symbol at the end of the full brand name SAP NetWeaver™. Do not place the ® symbol after “SAP” in the name SAP NetWeaver.

Note: If SAP awards you with more than one endorsementline, you may use only one endorsement line in each pieceof marketing material.

In running text, you may state that your product’sintegration is certified for SAP NetWeaver. However, you may not state that your product itself is certifiedfor SAP NetWeaver.
