Improved communication

Our door systems with unobstructed view enable visual communication. Their functional

solutions let in more daylight and improve the feeling of well-being. Good view of the

surroundings improve the point of view of safety. Unobstructed view and correct lighting result

in the feeling of security. By introducing our integrated access control systems we are taking

another step towards a safer environment.

Sapa Door Systems

Doors for all rooms

Sapa Building Systems made of aluminiummake it possible to minimise the maintenance requirements and provide reliable functions, which is appreciated by both the property owners and the tenants. The systems offer several design alternatives and are suitable for most functions and architectural solutions. We have doors for all rooms.

Advantages of aluminium. We have selected a number of aluminium fittings which suit the whole concept.

We present most of the solutions with clear anodised door leafs since this surface finish does full justice to aluminium and ensures good resistance against wear.

A contrasting surface finish/colour combination of door leaf and frame can often accentuate the door and result in a clarity of the architectural design.

These issues are naturally unique for each project. Our pictures should be regarded as a source of inspiration and ideas.

A well-thought out door system is characterised by a wide area of application and a possibility to be used in many functions.

Our door solutions are suitable for offices, hospitals, schools and universities, dwelling houses, industrial facilities, public buildings, exhibition halls, arenas and shopping centres.

• Set the dimensions. We have no limiting modular dimensions.

• Adapt the functions for protection and safety, fire resistance and evacuation, clear dimensions, stability, fittings, infill panels, glazing, etc.

• Influence the design by choosing the profiles, surface finish, fittings, proportions and materials, glazing or infill panels, etc.

Design your entrances, partitions, windows and façades using our compatible systems. Entrance elements can be easily enhanced by adding our profile for access control/entry phone and electronic functions. The wiring and fixing elements are hidden under a strong profile and a service cover. The service cover of the profile facilitates installation, service and maintenance, and protects the electronic circuits against damage.

The door systems are suitable for:

• entrances and staircases

• inward/outward passageways doors

• storerooms, bicycle rooms, garbage rooms and laundries

• toilets, lavatories and nursery rooms

• fire resistant and anti-burglar doors

• bullet-proof doors.

Doors and partitions adjoining different rooms can have the same character despite very different requirements. It is often beneficial for the room, if you can harmonise the choice of materials, form and surface finish.

The door systems are suitable for:

• entrances and staircases

• office rooms, conference rooms and corridors

• storerooms, bicycle rooms, garbage rooms and laundries

• toilets, lavatories and nursery rooms

• fire resistant and anti-burglar doors

• bullet-proof doors.

Sapa Door Systems

System presentation

Our door systems are based on a long tradition and experience.

We have three door systems based on three different profile depth values: 0, 0 and mm.

All our profiles can be surface finished by anodising (clear or Hardoxal colours) or powder coating (NCS-S and RAL).

The 0 insulated profile system and the 00 uninsu-lated profile system are identical on the outside so that they can ensure a uniform appearance in rooms with both inside and outside doors.

The 00 uninsulated profile system is our strongest system for large loads. The design differs from that of the 0 system through a bevel in the glass rebate.

The 0 and 00 systems can also be used for automatic sliding doors and folding doors.

This door system is based on uninsulated aluminium profiles with a profile depth of 60 mm. The system has replaceable rebate profiles and the outside glazing bead is integrated in the door profile. The range contains door profiles for both narrow and modular section locks, as well as an anti-finger trap. The doors can be easily combined with our façade systems 10, 00 SG and 0.

The 00 system is recommended for buildings with heavy person traffic.

• Versions. Single-leaf, double-leaf and meeting doors with or without side and top light.

• Anti-burglar protection. Up to class , according to SS 81 .

• Replaceable rebate profiles and break-out protection. Facilitate repairs.

• Rebate for glazing units and infill panels. - mm.

• Fire protection. Meets the requirements for fire resistance class E 0.

• Child safety. Available with anti-finger trap.

• Bullet-proof. Up to class C1, C, C and C, according to SS 9.

This door system is based on uninsulated aluminium profiles with a profile depth of 50 mm. It is available with an integrated or replaceable rebate profile. The outside glazing bead is integrated in the door profile for asym-metrically installed glazing units. The 00 system can be also provided with symmetrically installed glazing units with three different glazing bead designs. The range contains door profiles for both narrow and modular section locks, as well as an anti-finger trap. The doors can be easily com-bined with our glazed wall and partition system 00.

The 00 system is recommended for inside solutions.

• Versions. Single-leaf, double-leaf, meeting, folding and sliding doors with or without side and top light.

• Design. Three different glazing bead designs.

• Rebate for glazing units and infill panels. - mm.

• Fire protection. Meets the requirements for fire resistance class E 0.

• Child safety. Available with anti-finger trap.

The system is based on profiles with a profile depth of 74 mm and insulated with 0 mm wide glass fibre rein-forced polyamide strips. It is available with an integrated or replaceable rebate profile. The outside glazing bead is integrated in the door profile for asymmetrically installed glazing units. The 0 system can also be provided with symmetrically installed glazing units with three different glazing bead designs. The range contains door profiles for both narrow and modular section locks, as well as an anti-finger trap. The doors can be easily combined with our façade systems 10, 00 SG and 0.

The 0 system is recommended for buildings with high heat insulation requirements.

• Versions. Single-leaf, double-leaf, meeting and folding doors with or without side and top light.

• Design. Three different glazing bead designs.

• Anti-burglar protection. Up to class , according to SS 81 (Secure by design).

• Replaceable rebate profiles and break-out protection. Facilitate repairs.

• Rebate for glazing units and infill panels. 0- mm.

• Fire protection. Meets the requirements for fire resistance class E 0 to EI 0.

• Child safety. Available with anti-finger trap.

• Bullet-proof. Up to class C1, C and C, according to SS 9.

Automatic devices for better accessibility

Doors with automatic opening systemAutomatic opening systems are preferred from the point of view of good accessibility for the disabled. Accessibility is also improved and traffic is smoother in busy entrances.

An air-lock solution is often necessary to ensure good comfort. In many cases, channelled traffic with separated entry and exit is to be preferred.

Our 2050 sliding doors are based on a stable solution with a possibility of several different add-on functions.

Our telescopic sliding doors are suitable for narrow spaces where a large clear dimension is required.

Our hinge type doors can be equipped with automatic opening devices. 00, 00 and 0 door systems.

• Well-planned system solution with optimised profiles making it possible to install automatic systems from different suppliers.

• Stable system suitable for use in very frequented entrances as well as for passage with shopping trolleys, prams, etc.

• Anti-finger solutions. Our sliding door solutions are designed to eliminate any squeezing risk. Our hinge type doors can be provided with optional anti-finger trap.

• Clear anodised door leafs improve durability.

• Automatic systems. These can be adapted to the required functions and the customer’s special needs. See information provided by the suppliers of automatic systems.

• Locks. Sliding doors: The door leaf can be provided with locks in both the front and the back edge.

• Clarity. Add silk-screen printed glass. Use patterns, information, decorative elements and the transparency of glass to add clarity to the design and to improve orientation. You may also want to use a contrasting colour of the frame to accentuate the door.

When building health care facilities, Sapa Building Systems

provide a number of advantages which make it possible to

obtain functional solutions with a good design. Glazed elements

are used both inside and outside. Fire rated doors and glazed

elements for use in, for example, day-rooms, restaurants, cafete-

rias and corridors are available up to class EI 0. Escape routes

are equipped with fittings according to SS-EN 11 or SS-EN 19.

Daylight is important for a good working environment. In deep

buildings roof lanterns and glazed roofs with opening shutters

are often a good way of catching light. The shutters are then

also used for smoke evacuation. With Sapa’s external solar

protection it is easier to control the incoming heat radiation.

Sapa’s solutions for entrances and escape routes have

been developed so that they can withstand large loads and

heavy person traffic. Unobstructed view through doors and

glazed elements is important for communication, comfort and

safety. Doors and glazed elements meet fire resistance require-

ments up to class EI 0. Sapa’s entrance elements can be easily

equipped with access control systems and electronic devices.

The Sapa door system is suitable for all kinds of spaces in

health care facilities. This includes everything from corridors,

staircases, offices, storerooms and kitchens to wetrooms and

toilets. The doors can be upgraded to include anti-burglar

solutions without the need to change the design.

Hospitals and health care facilitiesWhen health care facilities are planned, it is important to think about the whole concept. The archi-

tect’s task is to create an environment where the personnel feels comfortable and the patients feel

better. The solutions must work together in order to ensure good communication with short walking

distances and clear sign-posting in a pleasant environment with modern and efficient equipment.

In order to improve the accessibility with dynamic communication, the solutions used in entrances,

staircases, lifts and junctions must be prioritised. Access control systems that are easy to handle

and at the same time ensure adequate protection of the personnel and the patients are an important

function which must be integrated in the total solution.

Construction of shopping centres is one of the project types

for which Sapa Building Systems are very well suited. The wide

choice of decorative profiles in the façade system provides

many alternative combinations of functionality and appearance.

The Add decorative profile is used in façade solutions for solar

protection, sign-posting and lighting.

Sapa’s solutions for entrances and escape routes have been

developed so that they can withstand large loads and heavy

person traffic. Doors and glazed elements meet fire resist-

ance requirements up to class EI 0. Display windows, shop

entrances, large sliding elements and folding walls ensure good

level of safety thanks to their stable structure.

The Sapa door system is suitable for all kinds of spaces in

shopping centres or arcades. This includes everything from

offices, staircases, corridors, storerooms and kitchens to wet-

rooms and toilets. The doors can be upgraded to include anti-

burglar solutions without the need to change the design.

The glazed roof system is a good solution for squares and

arcades as far as comfort and smoke ventilation is concerned.

Thanks to the glazed roof elements daylight shines on the

passers-by on the covered squares and walking streets.

Shopping centres, exhibition halls and shopsMore and more shopping is done by households outside the town centres. New shopping

centres are built where the customers can easily park their cars and find a great number of

shops at the same place. Everything is gathered under one roof and the shopping trip can

be combined with a visit at a restaurant or a café. Shopping arcades with large display

windows along the internal walking streets create a centre of its own, a town in the town.

Car showrooms are open all round the clock thanks to their glazed façades. Exciting lighting

and challenging architectural design attract people’s attention in the townscape.

Sapa’s entrance elements can be easily equipped with

access control systems and electronic devices. Unobstructed

view through doors and glazed elements is important for

comfort and safety. With aluminium profiles and glass we are

able to solve this in an elegant manner, not only in entrances,

staircases and corridor doors, but also in our anti-burglar or fire

rated doors. Terraces and patios can get the same appearance

with Sapa’s glass partition and sliding terrace door systems.

Sapa Building Systems made of aluminium make it possible

to minimise the maintenance requirements and provide reliable

functions, which is appreciated by both the property owners

and the tenants.

Dwelling houses

Flats in apartment blocks have become a popular form of living among people of all ages. The

layout solutions are more and more similar to those used in detached houses and new functions

are included in the apartments. Advanced technical solutions are much used in the houses, such

as digital communication systems between the flat and the entrance for booking of laundry-room,

sending information to and from the administrator as well as access control. Safety and service have

become an important part of housing.

Arenas shall function as a meeting place in many different situa-

tions, such as indoor sports events, working out, concerts, music

shows, conferences and fairs. Swimming baths are popular meet-

ing places as well with keep-fit activities, swimming competitions,

adventure bath, relax, spa and gym. Cafés, sport bars, restaurants

and shops are the usual complements to modern facilities.

The main entrance has often the form of a large glazed façade that

welcomes the visitors. Glazed façades breathe also life and motion

to the town’s new squares.

Sapa’s solutions for entrances and escape routes have been

developed so that they can withstand heavy traffic and large loads.

Doors and glazed elements meet fire resistance requirements up

to class EI 0. Sapa’s door systems for other spaces such as

offices, staircases, corridors, storerooms, kitchens, wetrooms and

toilets can have the same design so that uniform appearance is

ensured. The doors can be naturally upgraded to include anti-

burglar solutions with preserved design.

Universities, schools and day nurseriesSchools belong to our most important workplaces. The building shall provide conditions for learning

and development in a sound working environment. A school must be an intimate place but at the

same time open and easy to take in. The world of a school reflects the interplay between children,

youth and adults at the same time. It is here that the foundations are laid for the values we convey to

the next generation. The architecture and interior design play an important role in an environment that

shapes the future.
