Database: RetailAnalysis.bak

Step-By Step Guide

Step Restore the Database to MS SQL Server

What To Do What to Say (include necessary Screenshots)

Login to MS SQL Server. ID:XXXX (your ID) PASS: XXXX(your PASS)

Create a new database called RetailAnalysis

Take all the defaults when creating this database. This will be shell in which to restore the actual database.

Restore the RetailAnalysis Database. Right click the RetailAnalysis database and choose Tasks ->Restore ->Database

In the “Source for restore” dialog box, select From device

Then Click “...”

Click Add

Choose the RetailAnalysis.bak from the folder …..\Demo_8140\ Database\

Then Click OK

In the “Select the backup sets to restore” dialog box, select all.

Under Options (left Panel) choose "overwrite existing database"

Then click OK

That's it...The RetailAnalysis Database is restored.

Step Using Lifecycle Manager, uncompress the BOE content into yourimage

Open LCM

Import LCMBIAR Choose the Demo_8140 from the …./Demo_8140/BOE Folder

In the next screen you will need to "SAVE" the job. Save in Promotion Jobs

For Destination, choose your Server Name

Once the job shows up in LCM, simply promote it and take all defaults

The promotion is successful if the Status is Success

Step Using Information Design Tool edit connections

Open Information Design Tool, from the Client tools folder.

Click on “+” and select Insert Session

Then Login to your system Using your ID / Pass.

You can open the CMC to find your system .

Find the Connection RetailAnalysis under the Connections folder.

Right click on it and select Edit

Then Click on Edit

Change User name, Password and Server to user name, password and Server of your MS SQL Server.

Then click on Test Connection

If the Connection editing is right, you will see the Test Result like it. Then Close Test Result

Then click on Finish

Click the Save Button at the tab to save the change.

Step Re-index the information spaces

Open BI launch pad

Then open Explorer from BI launch pad

Click on Manage Spaces

Find RetailAnalysis.unx under Universes\BI- EIM\Mobility\Retail\

Click it and you will see Explorer Retail_Analysis on the right panel.

Then click Index now button

The index will be successful if you see the Status like this.

You are now finished. Just test and kick the entire demo around.
