1Q) what is Round sum Function, how shall I use it.......Thanks for your comments.

Round function will truncate a number to the specified number of decimal places and round up the result to

the nearest integer. Formula: =round (number, number of decimal places) example: =round (156.87, 0) it will

return 157

2)Olap connection can be made on top of bw server or multiproviders....with the help of these

connections...you can access all the queries from a multiprovider at once....without creating n number ofconnections...

3) What is the difference between scheduling and publication???

Publication: allows full client and WebI users to process and publish their documents automatically via

repository...Scheduling: You can specify when you want these reports to be sent, and allow the recipients to

choose when they want to receive them..

Well in a nutshell, when you are scheduling lets say a report; you instruct the system to let it run for a

certain parameter-set at a given time. The result is stored in your system and it called an Instance.

Whilst in a publication you can include more than one report and define how and to whom you want to

deliver them to. Then you can run/schedule your publication and the content will be delivered as defined at agiven point in time.

4) How link two Universes having with different connection.......?

A) Linked universe is outdated in 4.0,it is called as multi universe.

By default IDT won't be enabled in BO 4.0 it needs to configure ask Basis team to configure it...but i can

assure you can create a new universe using multiple source systems but existing universes with different

source and connection is not possible. You need to create from scratch using IDT

5) What is aggregate navigation explain with simple example.A) it is used for identifying incompatible objects in aggregate tables in the universe level..........

The searching process is reduces when u setup the aggregation navigation process...i.e it don't search the

aggregate table when it have incompatible objects which is setup in aggregation navigation.

6) What is reportbrusting with explanation?

A) Report brusting means Sending report to user which are bo user as well as dynamic recipients. we can

achive using SAP BO publication feature

7) I have a crosstab report its contain 52 weeks data, I want to calculate sum for particular weeks? for eg

sum(5k,6k,7k)

A) Do you have the week column in the table?

If yes then you can apply break on the same column and then you can apply Sum function for that particular

Measure. In the break footer you will get sum for the week

8) I want to convert the deski report into webi report using RCT.

But I have a some problem here the data is missing in webi report after convert the report deski into webi..

A) 1.it may because of incompatible objects in the report. In this case, u need create a detail variable and

associate it to a merged dimension then replace the incompatible object with this variable.

2.If there are already detail variables, thw associated dimensions will be removed. In this case associate the

dimensions same as in DeskI.

if these don't give you solution, explain the report clearly..

9) I have 2 data sources

One data source have 5 objects (3 dims, 2 measures), Second data source have 3 objects (2 dim, 1 measure).

Both data sources have one common object. Now I want to merge these 2 data sources . It is possible to come

all these objects will come in one table??

1. If it will come. How it is??

2. If not. Tell me how??

A) Convert the incompatible objects to detail variable and associate it to merged dimension

By using merge Dimension it is possible

10) How to Improve the Performance in Web I Reports And Universe Designer Level..?

A) in case of webi: 1) by reducing no of data providers 2) reduce the use of no.of variables 3) by reducing

complex formulas/variables 4) use do not refresh on open report 5)use variables instead of formulas

11) what's the process of report bursting?

A) Report Bursting is a process where you can schedule the report for one time and send the report to

multiple applying multiple restrictions. Example: You have a report with 3 territories (US, UK & France)

information.

If you schedule this report

US , UK & France users will see only their information and the rest will hidden due to restriction. This

process involves the following sequential steps....

1. Create a PROFILE at CMC

2. Create a PUBLICATION in Info view or CMC and subscribe the users

3. Finally Schedule the documents

12) How to Hide the Rows in Web I ?(I Have 1-5 Rows So I Want Hide the 1,3,5 Rows How ..............?)

A) There is a way to hide those rows by using 2 functions. Line number () and odd (). Line number functions

give you the serial number but the first row will be numbered as 2 and second row is numbered as 3 and so

on...as it treats the column header as 1. So in your example the five rows will be numbered as ( 2,3,4,5,6) and

you want to hide 2,4,6 rows. Now you have to use ODD () function, when the number is not odd, you can hide

those using conditional variable.

Q) What is semantic key and semantic group? Is both are same or not?

A)Both are not same. Semantic key is used in Write optimized DSO whereas Semantic groups available

under DTPLets say there are two records in the input stream of data for a DTP.

If the data gets divided into multiple packets while getting processed, the above two records might go into

separate data packets. In case you have defined semantic group in DTP with product and material, system

will always put these two records together. This is sometimes required when it is needed to process all such

records together, for eg., in start routine.

2)When am creating standard DSO am select unique data records check box at the

time Sid generation check box goes to disable mode?? Why that check box goes to

disable mode any reason? Could explain me

A) Unique data records: if u don't want allow the duplicate records to standers DSO then select chis cheakbox.normally real time select this cheak box to allowed duplicate records why bcoz standerd DSO have

overwrite functionality....Sid generation check box unselect: bcoz to improve loading performance. If u run

the report on this dso then select this cheak box bcoz to genarete the SID'S.when u load data from dso to

second level data target to cube at the time unselect the cheak box Sid genarastion is not nessasary to create

Sid. Incase u select Sid generation check box at time of activate the table then genarate Sid then degrageloading performance........i think this is main reason.................
