The primary power supply circuit
does not operate properly.
Check Varistor (VA601).
Check Power Board.
Is fuse (F601) broken?
Check Thermal switch(SW902) ......short in normal
SW902 opens when the surround-ing temperature of the switchexceeds 90°C.
WARNING (red) and
POWER (red) indica-
tors are flashing?
The symptom indicates that the projector detected anabnormal temperature risen inside the projector.Check the air filters and remove the object near theintake and exhaust fan openings, and wait until thePOWER indicator stops flashing, and then try to turnon the projector. - The internal temperature is monitored by sensor ICs,
IC8841 on Sensor Board, IC8801 and IC8811 on MainBoard.

Check power supply lines, S5V,-5V, S16V, etc. on the Mainboard.
- Refer to the diagram "Power Supply Lines".
An abnormalityoccurs on the sec-ondary power sup-ply lines
Power failure detection diodes detect the fan operation stop. Check FN901, FN902, FN903, FN904, FN905 and peripheral cir-cuit.
- Fan Lock signal is "H", and FAN_ERR signal is "L".
An abnormalityoccurs on the fancontrol circuits.
Check power starter signals as follows:
- FAN_SW signal (Power-on:H) is output from pin 12 of IC1822 andapplied to the Power Board. It drives the power oscillation circuitand power supply for the cooling fans in Power Board.
- SI_SW signal (Power-on:H) is output from pin 13 of IC1822 and sentto IC3601, then 3.3VSI line is supplied.
- ON_15V signal (Power-on:H) is output from pin 14 of IC1822 andsent to Q591, then 15V line is supplied.
- ON_5V signal (Power-on:H) is output from pin 15 of IC1822 andsent to IC4621, IC8281, Q4601, Q4611, then 12V, 3.3V_A, 5V, -5Vlines are supplied.
- ON_3.3V signal (Power-on:H) is output from pin 16 of IC1822 andsent to IC1401, IC1411, then 3.3V, 1.8V lines are supplied.
An abnormalityoccurs on powerstarter signals.

Parts description and reading in schematic diagram
1. The parts specification of resistors, capacitors andcoils are expressed in designated code. Please checkthe parts description by the following code table.
2. Some of transistors and diodes are indicated in markfor the substitution of parts name. Please check theparts name by the following code table.
3.Voltages and waveforms were taken with a video colorbar signal(1Vp-p at 75 ohms terminated) and controlsto normal.
4. Voltages were taken with a high-impedance digitalvoltmeter.
