Our November 18, 1991 meeting and program "B!G WILD" has beenpostponed until early next year.

THE REASON is that the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy isholding public hearings too. update their Five-year Capital OutlayPlan/Workprogram. Those environmentalists working to preserveopen space in the Santa c l ar t t a and North Western San FernandoValley (us) are encouraged to present their projects at this time.

We invite all of you to join us on the night of Nov. 18, 1991 at7PM a~ the Santa Clarita Historical Society's headquarters at24107 San Fe~nando Rd. in Newhall. This is at the old depot thatthey saved with a g!"eat co~~unity effort. It is beside the tracksin William S. Hart Park. For directions and/or carpooling, callJan at (8l8i 884-9610.

Also, since our DECEMBER meeting falls two days before Y~as, wedecided to cancel that one too. So have a lovely holiday withfamilies or whatever, and we'll be in touch before the 3rc ~o~day

On Monday, Nov.4, the Conservancy voted to grant the State Parks$270,000 toward the purchase of 156 acres crucial to our futurepark. ROCKY PEAK HIKES, ET AL

Rocky Peak is open daily from 8am to 6pm. There are twotrailheads: one at 118 fwy and the Rocky Peak offramp, andanother at the Chumash Trai lhead in Simi Va l ley (Yosemite turno ffto Flannagan - rt to end).
