  • - 6/37 -

    Step 1

Check the frictional relationship with the

surroundings when installing. - Install a pair of dryers attached. If frame is shaking

during spinning mode, interference noise is generated.

Friction occurs due to unstable shaping of water

supply/drain hose - Prevent friction between water supply/drain hose and

product or wall. Floor is shaking, which makes the product move. Case#1 Levelness defect due to floor damage. Case#2 Shaking due to old laundry room

floor(lumber). => It is recommended to contact the installer and request

for re-installation such that it does not influence on the vibration.

    Step 2

Foreign materials in Pump Drain - Open debris filter and check there are foreign materials such as coins, pins etc. - Check pump drain impeller is broken.

If there is noise or operation is not smooth, check Step #3.

    Step 3

Pump Drain - If pump drain is defective, it may cause noise during drain cycle. In this case, replace pump drain.

    Small foreign materials

    - When water is draining through drain hose,

small foreign materials could drain with

water because there is no filter.

So, it can make a little bit of noise but it is

    not a problem

    => Replace the Pump-Drain.

Check Point Check the condition of Pump-Drain.

    Tip 1-4. Pump-Drain Abnormality

  • - 8/37 -

frictional noise of washing motor while Motor-L / Motor-R is rotating.

When there is abnormal noise or Rotor

    constraint, replace the Rotor.

Step 3 Check for Clutch noise during spinning mode. - Press and hold Spin+Soil, while pushing the power button. =>Test Mode - Adjust knob and select SPN to start. - Check if max RPM is reached. (800rpm 10%) If noise is generated from Clutch, disassemble

the Rotor and check for abrasion. - Disassemble the Rotor. - Check for the abrasion of Gear of Clutch-Boss

assembly. => Replace deformed Clutch Lever and damaged Gear.

Check Point Check the condition of Clutch & Motor operation.

Tip 1-5. Clutch & Motor Abnormality

  • - 9/37 -

    Step 1

Explain to the customer. - Check the customer usage condition. - Check if he/she uses moisture-proof cloth and tell

them not to use it. : WaterProof Sheet, Mats, clothing Unbalance vibration due to laundry inclined to one

side. Case#1 Inclination occurs due to washing small

amount or excessive amount. Case#2 Inclination occurs due to using spin-only

course. Case#3 When washing bedding, bedding net is not

used. => Check the customer usage condition and explain

    how to use it correctly.

Step 2 Resonance phenomenon occurs in the rising

section during spinning mode. - Hudson Resonant Frequency : 200~450rpm section - In the resonant frequency, Tub moves. The resonance phenomenon occurs in the rpm

rising section at the beginning for spinning, which is normal.

The sound of water is generated when shaking

tub. - Explain that the sound comes from salt water which

is the center of gravity in the Balancer and that it is normal.

If there is no water sound in the Balancer when

checking the Tub, it is defect. Thus, replace the Spin-Basket.

=> Explain that it is one of the characteristics created

    while designing the product.

    #4. Symptom : Error Check

    4-1. Schematic Diagram of Repair

  • - 26/37 -

    Step 1 nF Error Check

Check the water supply hose during installation. - Water supply fails due to hose bending and friction,

because the product rear is installed too close to the wall.

The filter is clogged due to problems with pipe and

water quality. - Separate the Filter with a tool. - Clean the filter with a brush.

Step 2 Check the condition of water supply valve connection. - Check if the terminal pin is pushed back. - Check if Harness wire is broken. Check the exterior of valve. - The top core of water supply valve heaves. - Crack on the Body Check the resistance of both ends of water supply

valve. Maintain the coil resistance at 1.0. -> If O.L, replace

    the valve.

    Step 3

Check the power supply from PBA. - Press and hold Spin+Soil, while pressing the power button. => Test Mode - Turn knob to select tS mode. - Push Temp to work the valve. - Turn All the lights on to work the valve. Check the voltage applied to both ends of water supply

valve. Maintain the valve supply voltage at 120V. If NG,

    replace the PBA.

Check Point Check the condition of Water-Hose.

    Tip 4-1. nF Error

  • - 27/37 -

    Step 1 nD Error

Check the Pump with the drain fail. - Check Voltage at Pin YellowBlack : AC120v Replace the Main PCB - Check Pump Coil at YellowBlack : 15.5 Replace the Wire or Pump Step #2 Wire Check Small foreign materials

    - When water is draining through drain hose,

small foreign materials could drain with

water because there is no filter.

So, it can make a little bit of noise but it is

not a problem - Check pump drain impeller is broken.

Step 2 The structure of Pump-Case Tub bottom

connection gets damaged and separated. - Structure of Tub bottom Pump-Case

assembly (Portion produced before Dec 10, 2012) Replace the damaged portion of Pump-Case

and fix wire. - Insert the taping into wire hook. - Separation and wire breakage occur due to

constant vibration. Thus, bind it with Cable Tie.

Check Point Check the condition of Pump & Hose.

    Tip 4-2. nd Error

  • - 28/37 -

    Step 1 IE Check

If 1E error occurs in Main PBA, have it checked.

Check the water level sensor. - Measure the coil resistance and check for wire

breakage. Maintain the coil resistance at 20~24 -> If O.L,

replace it. Measure the frequency when the water level

sensor is on stand-by. - Measure the water level sensor during stand-by

with the power on. - Push the Spin button+Delay Start button for about

    10 sec. - Turn knob to select the Heavy-Duty course. - 0266 are displayed by turns. How-to-read: 0266 => 0266 => 26.6kHz If the frequency is 26.4kH : 25.9kHz or lower,

    replace it.

    Step 2 OE Check

Check the sensing of water level sensor, - if water level hose is clogged by foreign substance

or bending; - if the hose is punctured or detached. The frequency does not rise during water supply,

which is considered water leakage phenomenon caused by Tub damage. Thus, water supply stops.

Check if the water level sensor terminal contact is

incomplete. They apply bond to the top part of water level sensor

when shipped from factory. Thus, do not adjust it. If you adjust it, the spinning mode cannot be

activated due to change in Reset frequency.

Check Point Check the water level sensor & connection condition.

Tip 4-3. IE / OE Error

    Not Adjust Bolt

  • - 29/37 -

    Step 1 LE Error Check

If LE error occurs in Main PBA, have it checked. Measure the frequency when the water is at mid- to

high level. - Measure the water level sensor during stand-by with

the power on. - Push Spin+Delay Start for about 10 sec. - Turn knob to select the Heavy-Duty course. - 0266 are displayed by turns. How-to-read: 0266 => 0266 => 26.6kHz Frequency of 21~24kH : If out of range, have it

    replaced.

Step 2 Water level hose Air leakage If LE error occurs in Main PBA, have it checked. - Crack in the water level hose. - Check if air is leaking from punctured water level hose.

    Step 3 Drain hose Siphon

If drain hose is inserted too deeply into drainage

adjust it not to sink to water in drainage.

Dont remove the screw holding drain hose to frame. If it is removed, drain hose is down on floor and water is drained out automatically Check if there are holes on drain hose.

Check Point Check the water level sensor & the water leakage condition.

    Tip 4-4. LE Error

  • - 30/37 -

    Step 1

Check the Wash Motor Supply Voltage of PCB

    - Pin #1 / #2 / #3 of CN3 = AC 145v

    (GND CN1 Black)

    Replace the PBA

    Step 2

Washing Motor Stator Defect - Separate the Cover-Panel from product. - Separate the 9Pin housing to measure the Female

terminal. - Motor Coil Measurement between 3 phrases of Coil UVW : 9.82 - In the case of coil value open defect, check the terminal

pin. Washing Motor Rotor Constraint - Constraint phenomenon occurs during operation

because the surrounding iron powder enters by magnetism of Rotor-Magnetic. Thus, incorrect water level is sensed.

    Step 2

Hall Sensor Characteristics Check - Remove CN9 and measure the Resistance : about 40~60

    - Measure the Hall Sensor Resistance Red/Blue/Orange pin (GND CN9 Green) Replace the Wire or Motor Motor Control Signal Characteristics Check - Check Voltage at Pin Green and Blue/Orange Spin-Basket slow turning by manually - Check Voltage at Pin Green and Red : 5v Replace the Main PCB

    Step 1 dC Error

Tub Balancer Check - If there is no water sound inside the Balancer when

checking Tub, it is defect. Thus, replace the Spin-Basket.

    Unbalance-Retry phenomenon caused by moisture-

proof cloth - Check if moisture-proof cloth is used, and explain not

to use it. : WaterProof Sheet, Mats, clothing Unbalance vibration caused by laundry inclined to

one side. Case#1 Inclination occurs due to a little or too much

laundry. Case#2 Inclination occurs when the spin-only course

is used. Case#3 When washing bedding, net is not used. When complying with recommended washing usage

condition, check the installation condition of Step #2.

Step 2 Check for Frame touch caused by inclined installation. - For the left and right of product, check the levelness-

measuring apparatus at the top of Lid-T/C. - For the front and rear of product, check the levelness-

measuring apparatus on the side of Frame. Product moves due to floor shaking. Case#1 Level defect due to floor damage. Case#2 Shaking due to old laundry room
