CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.1d Recognize and nameall upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.

The Common Core may not include writing letterscorrectly for Kindergarten students. I feel they needto learn the correct way to write while they are learningtheir letters.

Each letter of the alphabet has two pages. One is a colorand trace page to use after the teacher models writing

the letter.The next page is just practice. Students have a visual toshow the correct way to write each letter. Students traceeach letter on the dotted lines and then write their ownletters carefully.

There is an award included in this packet to be given whenstudents meet these expectations.

The Letter Cards can be used in centers as students learnto recognize and write their letters!

The next 12 pages are Letter Writingcards. Print out and laminate or placein protective sleeve. (Cut betweenthe black lines so you will have a nice

border for the letters.) Have studentspractice tracing the proper way towrite each letter with their fngers.

When students have practiced, give

them a small cookie sheet flled withsand and let them trace the letters inthe sand. Make sure they are tracingthe letters correctly. Too manystudents never learn the correct way
