Salinlahi Evolution is a game development competition for college students who have the skills and talent to create digital learning games anchored in science and technology.

Philippine Science Heritage Center, also known as Salinlahi, is being managed by the National Academy of Science and Technology. We are the only center enacted by law in the country and the only one that focuses mainly on Philippine science and technology. We want to encourage the public especially students to venture into a science career.

OBJECTIVES

ELIGIBILITY1. The contest is open to all college students in the Philippines who have knowledge and skills in creating and developing digital games.

2. Each individual or team (maximum of four people) are registered students of a recognized educational institution (university, college, or vocational school).

3. Third party developers are not allowed.

Participants should be able to submit the following requirements on or before August 28, 2015 at the Philippine Science Heritage Center. 1. Accomplished Salinlahi Evolution entry form2. Certificate of Recognition from their respective schools confirming that the participants are registered students of the institution3. Copy of the digital game4. Game instructions and a trailer video of the game All materials submitted become property of the National Academy of Science and Technology.

 1. All entries received from Ferbuary 9 to August 28, 2015 will be pre-judged by the PSHC Interagency Working Committee.2. The top five entries will advance to the final stage of judging. 3. Game developers of the top five entries will present their game with the judges of the competition.4. The judges is to be identified PSHC.5. The top 3 games which got the highest points based on the criteria above will be awarded the prizes.6. Winners will be announced on November 28, 2014.

JUDGING

 1. Participants can compete for COMPUTER, CONSOLE, and MOBILE game platforms.2. The digital games should be submitted at the Philippine Science Heritage Center on or before August 28, 2015. 3. Computer or console games must run on both Windows and Mac OS. Mobile games should run on the targeted platforms.4. Games should run without internet connectivity.

GAME

5. Games must be in English.6. Games should incorporate science and technology concepts, preferably reflecting the aim of the Philippine Science Heritage Center to honor and promote Filipino scientists and their contributions.7. Games should not contain vulgarity, violence, defamatory language or any other subject deemed by the competition organizers to be inappropriate for the tone of the competition.8. Participants should consider that the game will be featured as one of the displays in the Philippine Science Heritage Center. It is preferred that the game does not require too much time from the visitors.

 1. Participants grant PSHC the exclusive rights to promote, use, and distribute the submitted game as part of the Salinlahi Evolution Game Development competition and other PSHC activities.2. Games submitted to the competition will be featured as one of the interactive exhibits in the Philippine Science Heritage Center/ Salinlahin Museum.3. Philippine Science Heritage Center and its associated partners reserve the right to use the Game and the Game makers’ names or likenesses in any PSHC related promotional or advertising activity without compensation to the participants.
