You are in command of an infantry company. From your headquarters you will lead your men to victory.

The Maxim machine-gun has revolutionized the way battles are fought with its tremendous firepower. Use four of these excellent weapons to your advantage to pin down Tommy while your tanks, infantry, and trench guns launch the assault.

Infantry guns are mobile artillery support for your troops. They are built light to get them across no-man’s-land so that they can blast open machine-gun nests and enemy tanks.

Your infantry are the core of your command. They are a vital part of Germany’s new assault tactics. The new Panzers will open holes in the enemy lines for your infantry to exploit. Be ready with your men to break out beyond Tommy’s trenches.

This tank is superior to British tanks in practically every way. Mass them against a weak point in the enemy line and use its overwhelming firepower to tear open a gap in Tommy’s trenches.Stoss platoons are highly motivated and experienced trench-fighters. Nothing can stand up against their assault.Your Krupp infantry guns will help reduce enemy heavy machine-guns with high-explosive shells. Before the dust settles, move in and occupy the British trenches with your infantry and machine-guns.Once your troops are on the objective, they will be tough to dislodge!

Biltz’s Battlegroup

The Stoss, or Shock, troops are Germany’s finest assault troops. They are fearless seasoned veterans of close combat, equipped with flame-throwers, grenades, and automatic weapons. Their special training makes them an unstoppable force in close quarters.

We have captured a fair number of British-made panzers. These have been repaired and sent into battle against their former owners. These supplement our own excellent panzers with extra firepower.

Take command of your army through your headquarters. From here you will lead your men to victory. Make sure you are where you need to be to inspire your men forward when the going gets tough.

The Royal Artillery has sent forward gun detachments to destroy any German tanks that come into view.

Rifle platoons are the heart of your force. They will get the job done with the point of their bayonet and the thunder of their grenades. Support them well and they will rout the enemy and secure the battlefield.

The British Mark IV is a powerful weapon on the battlefield. Nearly invincible, these steel behemoths will crush enemy troops and blast open gun nests. ‘Female’ tanks will unleash a torrent of machine-gun fire, while ‘Male’ tanks will smash the enemy trench with high-explosive six-pounder fire.

The heavy machine-gun is your main anti-infantry weapon. Set them up so that they command no-man’s-land, keeping Jerry’s head down while your Tommies charge forward.

The Mark A ‘Whippet’ is named after the agile dog breed. Armed with several machine-guns and moving twice as fast as other tanks, it will get into Jerry’s position and wreak terrible havoc.

Second Lieutenant Frank Mitchell commands a Mark IV male tank, armed with a pair of powerful 6 pdr guns. With him are Mark IV female and Mark A ‘Whippet’ machine-gun tanks and some fresh troops from 8th Division. The fog of war slowly lifts and Mitchell learns from the nearby infantry that German tanks are about. Mitchell’s crew can barely contain their excitement as they draw closer and train their guns on Nixe. The future of tank warfare was about to change forever…

Your rifle company is well-equipped for assaulting and crushing the enemy. Prepare your assault with your Mark IV tanks. They will pulverize Jerry’s gun nests with high-explosives and rake his trenches with machine-gun fire. Then send in your highly-trained rifle platoons to clear out the trenches and breakthrough.With a gap opened up, send in the fast Whippet tank to machine-gun and run down the enemy on the run. No doubt the enemy will try and counterattack, so have your machine-guns set up to cut down their infantry and carefully sight your 18pdr artillery guns to knock out German A7V tanks.
